im gettin ballsy with this i think.. sl1/ttm56 combo mod
so i got a line on a TTM 57SL, so i thought wtf, im gunna do the sl1/mixer combo hack. im fitting my sertao sl1 box into my TTM 56 to make my set up a lil more transportable and give my homies the opportunity to brig their laptops over for sum scartch live fun without needin all the extra wires n stuff. i know its been done before, im just wondering what y’all think about it.
Well i gotta admit i am a jersey boy but no souless guido like Mike, but good news is i’ve finished my mod and barring a few initial problems that ive now sorted, it works like a friggen dream… no more mess of RCA’s running all over the place and setup/breakdown time is a whole lot quicker
one question gemini… why you lookin at half naked pics of sorrentino?
i followed his lead but had to make a few exceptions/changes
the sl1 wont fit in a 56 with the PCB in the sl1 box and you have to remove the RCA’s (which is easy if you handy with a soldering iron and solder removal tool), but the sl1 PCB grounds it self to the chassis, so you have to run a ground lead back to another chassis ground point.
to run the USB, i removed the mic input and built a usb male to usb female adaptor. then to keep the two pcb from touching, i used cut down coke bottle tops (they work so dont hate lol) all in all it isnt all that bad to do once you figure out the sl1 pcb and do all the soldering
i did find it easier however to solder my audio wires on the rane direct from the RCA jacks (they are nickle so solder will hold to them verrry well) all in all its pretty easy if you can solder properly, keep yourself organised, and dont get frustrated to easy.. i only say that because the ribbon cable for the line/phono switch is mounted in the shitiest place on the rane and the output meter ribbon is too short
