inverting the traktor pitch fader

inverting the traktor pitch fader

Hello,
I would like to change the behavior of the pitch fader in traktor, so when I move the fader UP, the pitch goes +% (faster), and when I turn it down, it goes -% (slower); so basically just the other way round as it is now.
I noticed I can invert the controller, but that’s not enough (This does the following: I turn my physical fader down, and in my traktor software it goes up - so only the controller is inverted, not the function).

Can this be done or is this standard traktor?

I would have suggested the hardware fader too..

What controller is this?
Checking invert box on tempo adjust command any good?

Hi, I have a Hercules 4-mx. If I wasn’t that clear: I noticed I can invert the behavior in Traktor with that checkbox, but not the physical controller, obviously. Sorry about that.
So no, checking the invert box is what I mean with: that’s not enough. I have to move the controller in the opposite direction. I would like to have the following:

  • I move my physical fader UP, and so goes the fader in Traktor: UP, but with a +%, so faster tempo - instead of the standard -% slower tempo.
    That’s a bit clearer?

This can easily be done with Bomes Midi Translator and Midi-Ox/Midi-Yoke.

But it will mean learning how to use both.

Thanks Patch, I’ll learn that one day, but I suppose this means it’s a standard traktor behavior that up means slower, and down faster? Not much to be done about it?

its the way it is on a turntable and does feel quite natural once u get used to it

That is the behaviour on all Turntables mate. You should adjust to suit!

Basically, I’ve always related it with the direction of teh rotating platter - UP on the pitch fader relates to pushing the platter backwards (slowing the platter down) and down on the pitch fader relates to pushing the platter faster (speeding teh platter up).

Change your undrstanding, not the software function. :+1:

ah true… thats probably why it actually feels so natural this way round  hadnt thought of that :stuck_out_tongue:
