I wont even post my brothers mix if he doesn’t give me a tracklist ![]()
I’m conflicted by playlists, on one hand I want to give full credit for the tracks of course , but on the other ..i want the first listen to be a mystery…it would be nice to have a feature you could enable which made the playlist viewable after the first play.
only if you have earned my trust previously will i take in a mix with no tracklist…

This is where a description helps. I’d listen to a mix if there was no tracklist, but an interesting description.
I completely agree about the tracklist, and I will always include one with my mix. When I listen to other people mixes I also see it as an opportunity for crate digging, and if I hear a track I love I want to know what it is so I can buy it myself.
I hadn’t given that much thought to the description before, but I guess it makes sense to give people an idea of what to expect if they are not familiar with the tunes in the tracklist.
I post mixes of my weekly radio shows purely for record keeping. It’s sort of an audible blog.
If you’re posting mixes to try and get noticed by promoters, you probably have little to no chance. In my limited experience, it just doesn’t seem to work that way.
In my experience, it doesn’t work that way at all. I mean sure you can enter a DJ mix contest to win a chance to spin at “X” festival, get 500 people to vote for you and end up winning. But that’s a totally different animal when it comes to popularity contests online. To land gigs you need to get out and make connections. But like the guy I quoted, it’s still worth posting your mixes online to have a nice catalog. You may end up gaining traction at some point and they may end up getting quite a bit of hits… Or the latter is that nothing happens and they barely get any plays.
agree.
I think if you post mixes regularly it shows how your taste changes and show your maturation as a DJ. It will also show your weak spots to yourself. (weak mixes, lack of a depth, poor segues, ill timed effects, crap taste in music)
King Unique was good at doing that with his mixes. Too bad he doesn’t do his “king unique broadcast” anymore. Fantastic DJ.
Don’t know if it’s been said or not yet but try setting up a page on Facebook (if you have it) for your mixes or anything music related and invite Friends or other DJs etc to like it then they’ll have a go to place for all your latest stuff.
I was wondering what do you guys consider an interesting description? ![]()

Describe your current state of mind, maybe include current room temperature as well. Possibly what you plan on having for dinner.
Alright, Todays forecast reports heavy heatwave, while I’m baking some “beets” on my decks in the good ol’ cave of mine. The secret ingredient is a spicy mix of Trap and Hardstyle ![]()

If that’s the most creative you can be with something as simple as words, why would I think you can be any more creative with other peoples records???
Well I always wanted to be a DJ not a writer and I guess that’s because I’m better with music than words ![]()
nice meme
This is kind of off topic but, what are some good DJ groups to follow on Facebook? Im trying to find the best up coming producers and DJs and would to know what groups to follow. Preferably only in America.
Thanks!
