My current setup is technics 1210 mixer with traktor scartch a6 with novation dicers
but every club i go to i see cdjs not technics or just technices sitting in the back. if I want start djing in clubs i need to learn how to use them and feel relaxed with them but I just dont like them lol
but if i want to take djing seriously shall I get a pair
To answer your question; yes, go with cdj’s. Not necessarily for the beatmatching, I’m guessing you’ve sorted that out, but for getting to know the added features compared to your technics.
You can use timecode on CDJs when you’re in the club. It’s not difficult to figure out. You could literally have a play on some at a store and walk away confident enough to use them with Traktor at a gig.
If you are an experienced DJ who knows his stuff and has used turntables and Traktor, you can really learn DJing on CDJs without owning them. It’s super easy. Just try them in HID/MIDI mode or with timecode CDs first and if you like it try it with some songs from an USB stick (analyze them in recordbox first)
They are really user friendly and beatmatching with them is really easy!
