Is there a Traktor equivalent of "DJAM Mode" in Serato?

Yeah thats it… I like that term.
What the fuck it has to do with Easter Egg is anyone guess.
Its just a hidden surprise in something.

Theres an Easter Egg in the Traktor Bible but not one that people will get much joy from… its a picture of me looking like a twat whilst very very drunk.

Have an app or screen saver that has some rude comments that could only be directed at the people trainspotting overlayed onto a screenshot of what your traktor screen normally looks like. Ie, track name for all 4 decks could be GTFO or Go Away, you bug me. Then just switch from traktor to the other app or pic, and they might get the clue, lol.

That would be the Easter ROTTEN Egg then innit?

KEKEKEKEK

Jokes!

True so true, ive got a camo hat on, specs that arent even mine and im pouting like glamour model… all in all not an attractive proposition. I was very drunk.

Why is DJ AM mode called DJ AM mode. Am i missing something obvious ? Does it mean Anonymous

Beat me to it!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember reading the reason somewhere…can;t remember exactly…but I think it had nothing to do with him.

AM = Anonymous Mode.

:sunglasses:

Ahh…Its Anti-Trainspotter mode.

Still don’t get why people are so ‘anti trainspotter’, but then I’m not exactly into competitve DJing …

traktor needs a spankwire button (look it up)

But not on a work computer

There is an iPhone app that you can use to pick up some audio and it does a web search for the track name.

So the DJ AM mode…is therefore MOOT.

Yeah, but if you remove the track info from the Serato or Traktor GUI they will still be looking over your shoulder trying to figure out where the info is displayed. Or even worse they will just start asking you for the name of the track your playing. Most lurkers will be too drunk to remember the track info the next morning anyways.

This is why the ‘notes’ section of my iphone is useful - and also why I end up waking up in the morning with a phone stuffed with photos of DJs holding up random bits of vinyl …

I guess you have a point there. But most in the club are there to get drunk, have a good time and listen to good music. If you have the one fellow DJ or luker asking what track your playing big deal. I say leave it be displayed so they can have a look and avoid having to answer questions.

SPANKWIRE

For christs sake , a little warning !!! I just googled that and i figured it would something dodgy but im sat here with my girlfriend and her 3 house mates.

Closing a page quickly on a Mac that is going to be fixed this week cus the bloody trackpad click works 1 in 10 presses is not fun when your trying to hide pr0n..!

Might have a look later when theyve gone to bed !!!

 fap fap

Hahaha! Is this what Serato does? I’m so glad I went for Traktor! hahaha!

lmfao, goddamn I love where this thread is going, great stuff. I thought more people knew about the pong thing!

Anyhow, to the people in the thread who brought it up - no, as I stated earlier, this has nothing to do with competitive DJing, or being secretive. Again, I just get tired of people constantly hovering over my shoulder, I’ve never once not told anyone what a track was when they asked, my main issue is just being given my “zone” while I’m doing my thing.

And when I was using CDJ’s, trust me, this was never an issue, they just asked me cause they didn’t know what the hell to look at on the LCD screen of the deck (most of the time, I just swapped it out track info for a waveform since it was more useful anyway).

So yeah - nothing snobby, nothing elitist, or competitive, I just want to be left alone - more people will snoop my screen rather than just ask the damn track information lol.

It’s a non-technical solution but how about this?

An easter egg is a general term for a hidden feature or cameo within a program. It’s sort of like stumbling on a hidden easter egg, hence the term lol.

For example, I left an “easter egg” of my own in the bathroom this morning and put the seat back down to hide it. Next person to go into the bathroom finds it.
