Is there a Traktor equivalent of “DJAM Mode” in Serato?
In case anyone doesn’t know, “DJAM Mode” is basically a quick macro or value you input into the BPM field to make the title and artist of a track disappear from the deck display (an anti-trainspotter feature basically). One of those easter egg features along with “Pong Mode” in Serato lol.
I don’t remember without fiddling with it, and i’m at work, but couldn’t you create 2 different layouts, one with it set up to show the tracks how you wanted it, and another layout setup like pilmat suggested, then just midi map a key to swap between them? could be on two different function pages, but don’t remember.
I heard Serato is developing Outlook and Thunderbird plugins so you can check your email via the playlist window. They really know how to speak out to the DJ.
If it’s one thing I’ve learned on these forums, saying Serato or “Mac or PC” will get you practically no results for your original inquiry as it will get derailed by non-relevant input before you get to anything useful lol.
So from what I gather, no. And if I needed to, I’d need to midi map a display swap macro which would alternate between preferences?.
Yeah, I’m aware of such tools lol, my main reasoning is that I’m tired of people looking over my shoulder constantly, I figure with less to look at, they’d scamper off.
Oi, how I miss the days of just burning wav to CD and slapping them in my CDJ’s lol.
I honestly don’t see the issue with letting someone know the name of a track. Honestly I let people know if I found a banger, and I’d hope they do the same. Unless it’s some unreleased business that is special that you own it, it’s part of the “old school” mindset IMO that I really don’t like.
AKAIK Deck Details are not mappable to layouts so they either show or not, its not switchable.
The other way is to map : Prefs > View > Deck Size (Inc)
That will be a toggle button that minimises the decks so that the details dont show. But you lose the waveform.
