Interesting. Does that kill the load function for tracks into the deck? Do you have to hold the load button to get the effects control from the jog wheel?

Hey Scamo,
Sorry but my previous post is incorrect made the mapping last night and things aren’t quite working as i stated. Just having a play now will update, ![]()
Yes I’m a fan.
I’m disappointed, I wish you were going to tell me you knew things I didn’t know yet concerning the options. But yes you’re right, one can do a user a user mapping and implement any funky tricks with jogwheel, it’s currently doable without any fuss.
OK had another play and this is where i am up to:
I have the Load Button selected in S4 Pref menu to jog mode / fx this means when i press the load button once, it goes into fx mode.
What this means is that turning the jogwheel will only affect the fxs that i have mapped and will have no affect on the track or pitch.
If i press load again i have scratch control and pitch bend again BUT my mapping is still affected so the fxs still change. My current work around is to use the dry wet to kill the fx when i need pitch bend.
Other issues are that the jogwheels will affect the fxs even in browser mode. My plan to get round this is to only map one of my jogs for fx and use the other one to scroll through tracks.
To scamo - i use the cue buttons to load my tracks so don’t need the load buttons for anything.
This was just a basic mapping made in 5 mins but with modifiers i am sure it can resolve the above issues.
hey da beef.. tx but can you share your mapping??
news ? ![]()
ok so I’ve not got my S4 back yet so i can’t have a play at this. From what I’ve read in this thread though recreating this isn’t as simple as activating jog wheel fx mode and messing with the native mapping… is that right? But we feel this may be something we can do in a future TPro update?
From Ean’s “The making of the S2 video” blog, I would assume that.

mapping avail yet? ![]()
You are right. I got around this by using modifiers.
Come on Ean - Get your mapping out ![]()
Ok. I’ve given this a try and I think my result isn’t too bad. I think I’ve watched Ean’s video about a gazillion times to try and get the setting right. It is my first attempt to add a user mapping to the S4. Hope you like it.![]()
Edit/ I use decks A and B as regular decks and decks C and D as sample decks.
To get to the jog wheel effects for Deck A, just press the Deck C button. The same goes for Deck B. Just press the Deck D button.
Ah, and I did do a bit of changing for my personal liking, so it isn’t 100% the same as Ean’s mapping.

Edit/ if you want this TSI, go to this thread.
nice scamo! will try when i get home.
btw are you the same scamo that left a comment on my blog about how i go about making a mix? like preparation of playlist, loops, and samples?
Yep, sure am.
Did you write something up? If so, sorry I missed it.![]()
BTW, your itchy dick mix actually was sort of an inspiration for my first mix.![]()
scamo
Nice one Scamo. I’ll take a look at this over the weekend. You had much of a play with it yourself? How is it?
Yeah, I played with it for about an hour and while I was making the mapping. I like the effects. They are fun. More fun than pressing buttons on the Maschine. The effects are best played in rhythmic sections within the music. You can get sort of musical with the jogs then, as Ean explained. ![]()

I’ve gone ahead and made a new thread just for the TSI discussion.
If you have any comments or suggestions about it, please go there.![]()

sweet! i havent had the time to write up anything yet. I’ve been working overtime lately and been playing around at a couple venues in LA. I will come around to it though!
Just got home and will check out the TSI and your mix!
Nice =) i’ll try it soon
