a wonder if somebody can help me tweak my kontrol x1 mapping to switch to full screen browser mode when scrolling through tracks like the djtt vci100se mapping. Id like it to switch back to normal track view mode after loading a track.
Hey mate. You need to add two extra commands, mapped to the browser knob and load button. For the left one it should look like this ..
Now when you scroll through tracks the view will change to Browser Mode
And when you load a track, the view will change back to Deck View.
Duplicate this for the right knob and you are good.
Remember also, SHIFT+LOAD toggles your view as well. Enjoy.
hey thanks jester, i really appreciate your help! thats how i have it mapped but the problem is for both deck A and B, it only switches to browser mode when i turn the infinity knob to the right (scrolling downward). turning the knob to the left: 1. does not activate brower mode and 2. switches the mode back to deck view if in browser view. i need it to remain in browser mode when scrolling in either direction and only switch back to deck view when loading a track. thanks again for your further assistance !!
You might have a mapping clash as well man. Works fine for me. Highlight the command and scroll through to see what else is mapped to the browse knob. Sometimes double mappings can screw with each other.
I’m an x1/maschine/traktor midi mapping in general guru. honestly it just comes from using the shit for so many years i’ve lost track Maschine and its controller pages and setting up virtual devices for the same maschine to give you seperate modifier namespaces so to speak, that’s where its at right now and maschines encoders with resolution up to 3600 CPR, how did they even achieve that? are they optical?
NI makes the best controllers/equipment imo, the feedback and the 2 levels of brightness for on and off so you can see it in the dark club regardless owned my heart. love how kontrol x1’s endless stepper rotary(basically acts like a increment and a decrement button with a step of +/-1 works perfect for beatjumping through a track, browsing your playlist/etc. wish there was the option to do that on maschine, i want a dedicated knob on maschine that lets me scrub as an endless rotary in relative mode at the highest resolution.
Oh and heres a cool trick i do, if i assign the same function on maschine as the kontrol one i’ll use the same midi channel and cc/note so the buttons change on both simultaneously, also remapped cue/rel to cuepoint 1(my load cuepoint always) and could never live without that
oh and i scored a casio ptouch labeler off amazon.com for 6 bux and the clear tape is awesome for labelling buttons that light up, the white tape perfect for labelling buttons you cant label over 9mm which is standard allows for 2 lines of text as well
had this one in my files already.
will be making some more soon, This mapping is standard in the X1 mapping, but it is explained how it works.
Advanced FX section, LED output When buttons are mapped to specific effects (effect select) and you want the corresponding button to light up when the effect is selected. The LED controller range needs to be set to the place of the effect in the list Effect: Delay, place in list: 1, range min. 1, range max. 1 Effect: beatmasher 2, place in list 15: , range min. 15, range max. 15 And so on. The mapping goes as followed Add out… FX advanced – Effect select o select your desired LED on your controller o condition 1: Fx panel mode = 1 o Assign it to the FX unit you want o In the LED options section, select the controller range as stated above
another one.
How to map master select LED output.
Is also in the standard X1 mapping, but good to know, if you ever change it.
first picture is for the button assignment second for the LED
Master set to deck… button and LED output How to assign a button to the master tempo button for the corresponding deck, and makei t light up if that deck is burrently selected as master. Add in: ‘Set to master’ to the button you want (‘set to master’ can be found under tempo.) o Assign it to the deck you want o Interaction mode: trigger Add out: ‘master tempo select’ to the same button (can also be found under tempo.) o Change the controller range min and max to the same number (according to the deck you want)
** Deck A = 0**
** Deck B = 1**
** Deck C = 2**
** Deck D = 3**
button
LED
there you go
I will add some more soon.
maybe start a new thread, with these kind of tricks with screen captures?
hey, I will start a new thread for these kinds of mini tutorials.
Everyone can add their own tricks, tips and questions. This way one single thread can be alot of help to everyone.
I will quote my two posts too.
