Korg nanoKONTROL2 & Traktor Pro 2 (manual assignment)
Hello there!
I recently bought my first controller, a Korg nanoKONTROL2. I have found many mappings which I can download for Traktor. However, I was wondering how I could assign manually each button, sliders and knobs to where I want in Traktor. I haven’t understood the logic behind the how-to. Do I need a third-party software? The manual doesn’t really help.
You need to get idea behind the Learn button in the controller manager and then twisting knobs when you want to assign them. I suggest watching this DJTT tutorial on a basic mapping logic and techniques.
Welcome mate!
As for your desired LED option, I don’t know if that controller has some hardware option to keep them displaying all the time but we could try doing the modifier trick.
Add a modifier output and map it to one button with LED:
I don’t think that the leds on the nano series are programable via midi. You can modify the way they work locally
(on the controller itself) but I don’t think midi affects them. I have a series 1 Nanokontrol and they aren’t. I used the editor and use them to tell me the toggle state.
To get LEDs on the nano KONTROL2 to work like you want. You will need to install the Korg Kontrol editor and switch the LEDs from internal to external control. Then you can map them to do what you want with your software.
