led blink to the beat
How to map this? Say I have 2 buttons for deck load a and b. How can I make them blink in sync to their appropriate deck. It would be nice…

I was wondering the same thing. I know the newest version of the VCI-100 djtt tsi utilizes this. Prior to this I was under the impression that this was not possible in traktor thus the need for third party midi translators (bomes). any one with more knowledge care to explain. Ean and or DJTT crew?
Tell me how to do it for the xone 1d and I will literally worship you
“beat phase monitor” output, set to deck x focus. modifier 1 : play/pause=1; modifier 2 : deck mode=0 (be careful to set the appropriate target deck in both modifiers!).
That would be a good starting point. I shamelessly ripped the cue/cup/play behaviour off the X1 mapping and adapted it to my ddm4000 this weekend.
Maybe you can do without the modifiers, and need to map another output to the same led to turn it off when not playing.
edit : not tested before traktor pro 1.2.4, probably requires some of the new mods/outs required by the X1 so I suspect this is 1.2.3 minimum.
Assuming its just for the two decks, i wouldn’t worry about the modifiers so much mate.
Yeah basically you want to set a “beat phase monitor” output set to each deck load button, as slangemenneske mentioned.
Now the controller range is where it gets a bit tricky. this range tells the led the appropriate time to come on. Obviously you want it to flash to the beat so you will need to play around a bit here. I use min -.100000 and max +.30000 but you will find the right setting yourself.
Set midi range to 0 - 127 and check the “blend” box
Oh also i don’t think you can “learn” with this so you will need to know the midi note for each led.
I actually use the play buttons for decks a+b, and the cue buttons for c+d. Looks like a damn xmas tree with 4 decks going.
And remember it flashes to the grid, not the beat so make sure ur grids are toight like a tiger.
like a toiger ehh? Appreciate the help guys. I’ll try this tonight and get back to you…

good luck
shit yea. this IS nice. Really helps when gridding tracks. went with you on the 4 deck thing.
Cool!
and a thank you to you
Instead of having my 1d’s play button blink to the beat I have it set to blink with the volume peaks, it’s ‘almost’ the same however after using the two different methods I found out that as I’m using the beatmasher/slicer to extend sometimes tracks and work on it with other fx (while the track itself could be stopped or ended) it saved my ass to have a visual aid to check that no sound is currently passing through.
interesting. What is that called in the mapping menu…
Shit great idea, but having 4 different buttons (with different bpms maybe?) for ABCD flashing simultaneously… headache?
nah man. It’s nice.
Im trying to accomplish this with my VCI 100 SE mapping for the load select buttons on Deck A and B. It doesn’t seem to be working. Im not much of a midi guru. Maybe its because there are modifiers already associated with the load select buttons on the original version of the mapping???
Im lost, I dont really know much about modifiers
Yeah abyrne you’d have to associate the modifiers used on the load buttons to do this. I’m not familiar with the vestax mapping, but the easy way to do it is find the load/select mapping in the prefs and find out what modifiers are assigned to it.
Are you sure about that? I have modifiers assigned to the buttons I did. As long as you do the Add Out — output — beat phase it works or at least it did for me.
Really hate being the noob and asking stupid questions, but havnt had my 1d for that long and this sounds amazin! Tried it out using what you said, and obviously nothing is blinking. If I want the led to blink, for the button i have mapped as play, do i need modifiers? thought modifiers were like a shift funktion whats that got to do with making the led blink? cheers
For the “peak volume blinking led”:
my play button is button X (note midi channel and note)
you add a monitor deck PFL left (or right whatever) as an “Add out”: you’ll have to enter midi channel/note corresponding to the above button It’s a led output assigned to the corresponding deck and I’ve set the controller range from 0.5 to 1 and the midi range from 0 to 127.
That’s would not be close to the beat more than often but does the trick as even with a stopped track you can have the led that reminds you that there’s still ‘sound’ within this deck. But it’s a convenience for me that may not be useful to you. Just test and see what best suits your need.
cool stuff..
but do you guys noticed as well that all other buttons start blinking slightly.. ?
i got them mapped to the pause buttons (only deck a (e3) and deck b (g#3) for the mom). i also noticed, that when i hit pause on a beat on deck A the light stays lit, which doesn’t happen if i press off beat or on deck B..
