Let's Talk Helmets!

Well, cheesy helmet stuff like the OP suggested I also loathe. But I’m seriously considering finally trying out if I can get used to in-ear-monitors during gigs just to have the possibility to wear crazy hats while playing :sunglasses:

I mean: pith helmet, tinted sunglasses, acapulco shirt - I just have to DJ looking like Raoul Duke somewhen :sunglasses:

Well, it’s somewhat cool because it reminds me of this :sunglasses:

There’s always the classic Hartnoll Bros headlights.

Everyone wore masks at the Halloween gig we did last year. I wore a baboon mask and I felt like a herb. Neveragain.jpg

Believe me, gasmasks are a BITCH! Not only are they really sweaty, but they suffocate you in a room with less than a lot of oxygen.

Allthough, a friend of mine builds pretty sweet things out of dusting masks like this one.

Kinda cybergothy, but it looks fucking rad with leds in them. he also replaced the filter fabric with flourecent fabrick and mounted UV-leds inside the filter. Looks absoutley fantastic if you’re in to the whole rave-look.

UUUUUHhhhhhhhhhh…what?

 same here.

How about this to bring the lulz:

Probably too sweaty, but would be hilarious for a bit

While you make your helmet, I will be practicing. Helmets/masks are lame. Unless you are daft punk.
Insert mowfive joke here____________________.

+1

but…helmets do help your SAWG status by 10000000 points! :stuck_out_tongue:

i wear a tinfoil hat, so the aliens won’t know what the incoming song is before the drop

Hair helmet/mask is enough for me :stuck_out_tongue:

DJ solo has some pics of him rocking some crazy fan made welding goggles…

For me Wolfgang Gartner still takes the cake:

Fuck that, no gimmicks here, I cant even stand looking at dj’s wave their fucking hands and turn knobs!

I do, sometimes, (& just for laughs) 3D goggles, anti-flu mask, …
I have yet to try the goggle-headlights. I have a friend that wears standard forehead mounted light when in an unknown club (when we mix b2b, he switches it from white to red). He just recently swapped it with neck-light.

IMO, mask is an interesting addition if you do find something comfortable and most of all original/interesting.

Not everyone needs it, but having something to make you stand out and let people remember you is MORE than beneficial for networking, and making that impression.

If helmet’s are your thing, then why not I suppose.

Just like with anything, taken with a slice of intelligent thought never hurts. Being the guy with giant green balloon on your head isn’t going to win you any prizes, but having a unique article can make people remember it, and you through it.

Morphsuit. Nuff said.

should wear a custom mask of your own face. XD Peel it off during performance and watch the people be completely dumbfounded

There 's one dude I know that wears a trollface mask. Making everybody lose The Game.
