Looking for Feedback on Mixing (House)

Here’s my new track, I am really interested in hearing some feedback on mixing and mastering because I am not very familiar with either:

Nice track man. Overall I’d say it’s a really solid mix. Nice sounds and nice groove.

Turn the volume way way down and what do you hear though? It’s all clap and the higher synth stuff. No kick, and a bit of the high hats. Your kick is way too quiet IMO. (or everything else is way too loud - you decide based on what raising the kick volume does to all your compression later on in the chain)

From about 3 minutes til 3:30+ you played the same chord progression every four bars, and it’s not much of a chord progression. I was begging to hear a different chord on the 4 but alas, no. Try taking that last chord in the bar/measure and augmenting it to build some suspense, maybe pop in a diminished chord on occasion. Mix up the chord inversions to make it more interesting. If it’s a I chord, throw in a 3 since they have essentially the same notes minus the root.

Hey man. good work. I can hear you have some musical background.
In my opinion what would improve this on would be:

  • more bass. the low bass frequency is lacking. try adding a second voice to your bass line one octave below
  • some shuffle-feel. implement some syncopated drum samples to break the strict 8th feel. make it dirty.
