anyone in djtt land know of software that can do this? :
i want to take the sound output from the main mixer, run it through my computer and have software translate the music into trippy graphics to display through a projector on a blank white wall in the club. like what the milkdrop and other plugins do for winamp or like the visualization option under the view tab in itunes. displaying different colors, shapes, patterns dependent on the beat and music intensity.
im not really looking for serious vj software, something much more automated and simple…
if yall have any insight or can point me in the right direction, id surely appreciate it!
Milkdrop actualy sells a standalone program that responds to music I’m almost positive, I looked into this alot awhile ago - if you find anything post your findings I’m still generally interested in Visual software
The music visualiser on iTunes is insanely cool. I could stare at it for hours… When i’m working i put it up on my monitor with some tunes playing. Soothes my brain. I always wondered if i could get it to visualise my traktor sets.
But yeah, Galaxian is a DMX light. Between my roomates and I, we have 1 galaxian, an ADJ eliminator, dyno fog (1200 watt fogger), some random smaller lasers, and a 900 watt strobe (doesnt see much use, we are more on the chill side than that) and some chauvet dmx controller. Makes for good house party fun… just gotta disable the smoke alarms (not that that usually isnt done already for other reasons).
I’m working with modul8 and traktor on the same laptop.
It’s work perfectly.
And I’m waiting my Vestax VCI-100 SE with 3.0 mapping for working on my audiovisual house mix.
But you can use Mixemergency also
and Whitecap is a cool vizualizer with microphone input.
If somebody have new idea … I will enjoy it.
thanks for the info… didnt know that was possible. exactly what i wanted to do. just wish i could have this setup on a dedicated mac osx system) decent gaphics in sync with traktor output via milkdrop and no vdj cost…sweet
configured it a bit with Jasper’s Line In Plugin for Winamp
Hi Guys, I have been looking for visulizer software and came across this one called vusic, try googling it . works off microphone and is standalone and certainly trippy 70’s style only downside only works with XP so need a standalone pc or laptop. I run mine into a Sony projector on to screen looks really good
After Glow uses current technologies that offer the greatest amount of functionality for live performances. Synchronization of unique videos created in motion re-enforced with the quartz composer patches is then run through resolume to ensure quality control of the light in unison with the sound.
Afterglow is the collaboration between a music technician, a painter, an electronic artist, and a fashion merchandiser looking to create everlasting experiences using light and sound. With motion altered video and graphics fed through quartz composer, a midi controller systematically synchronizes unique videos with any tempo of any genre of song. This gives the viewer of the music and visuals the ability to encompass himself or herself in the unique story unfolding before their eyes. Themes can be created for specific performances and lighting and live video effects can all be used in unison with midi controllers such as wii remotes, mixers, rock band drums, and custom made controllers
Digging the performance aspect…we really need full visual integration, badly

It’s not free, but nice to see what’s under the hood.
I am author of the site , Synesthesia interactive music
visualization". During several years up to June 2006 it was first in area of music
visualization by Goggle and other search engines.
The advantage of my program was providing narrow connection of melody pitches and intensity of music signal with movements on the screen. As I can see it keeps this advantage over other visualization programs. Therefore and as I worked out some new ideas I decided to busy myself with this stuff once more.
The site http://home.arcor.de/yuri.vilenkin/dem-vis.html contains description of demonstrative version of program ( 20 essential different variants of visualization are presented) and its download. The site includes 16 screenshots too.
I have presented on the site http://home.arcor.de/yuri.vilenkin/dem-vis.html
improved version of visualization program (see my post from Oct.11).with more comfortable menu control. There are many (40), mostly new, visualization variants.

I enhanced my visualization program especially concerning color richness and presented its demostrative version dem3-vis on the
site http://home.arcor.de/yuri.vilenkin/dem-vis.html together with downloads of 2 new digital files which include each one 10 visualization variants .
