MAC or PC for beginner DJ?
I need to purchase a laptop (for obvious reasons)
I use a PC desktop right now
I need to know which would be better for a beginner, mac or pc?
thanks!

stupid question sorry mate. have a good long read through the majority of the threads, you will understand.
Some people use a P.C, some folks use a mac.
Different folks different strokes.
welcome to the forums though.
here is a rough outline of what NOT to talk about on here.
-PC vs Mac.
-sync vs beatmatching
-Guns
-drug use
-Skrillex
-Deadmau5
& whatever happens, do not take offense from any critique that Nephew throws your way if you choose to put a ten minute “this is my 1st mix, what do you think” thread up for some feedback. (you have been warned
)
hang around, do some digging through all the old threads, look, listen and learn. you are in the right place ![]()
Oh goodness this place looks scary ![]()
cheers for the help man! I appreciate it ![]()
you’ll be fine mate. welcome
in regards to your question tho, zaniac nailed it. either is fine.
I lurked for like 2 months before even making an account. And that was just so I could look at all the pics in the Show Your Setup thread.
PC vs. Mac doesn’t really matter, it all depends on what you’re comfortable.
Well since I also use Windows specific software to produce, i guess a pc laptop & desktop would be best too. Thanks for the replies!
Not a scary place at all.
some real educated characters around the forum, we are a friendy bunch of wierdos.

Yeah seems legit.
There both going to do the same thing as a beginner i would personally recommend getting a PC and spending the money on your controller as thats the other thing you should consider.
Just don’t pile it will crap that you don’t need especially from a windows point of view your really going to have an unreliable system if you treat it wrong, keep it clean and what you need Music and software.
No platform will give you any advntages over cost so its really what your preference is
Welcome friend.
Check this article from the main blog about optimizing windows for djing
I haven’t read it cause I got a mac but i can assure you it will be useful ![]()
So there I was, at a underground club in Pershore. Skrillex was rocking out on an old HP Laptop running Windows 95…he was so stoned on E he could hardly keep his eyes on the synch button…then Deadmau5 rolled in, with a crackpipe stuck in his ear and pointed an AK-47 at Skrillex and said - “damn you man, if only you used a Mac, and beatmatched, I’d have sex with you and we could have little baby mau5’s!” Then I woke up. ![]()
^ hehe
buy a mac!
What’s the deal with Deadmau5 on here?
EDIT: Or should I not ask? ![]()
He ate the DJTT office cat.
I’d say use whatever you are comfortable with. I have used both mac and pc with traktor and once in full screen it looks the same. If you go PC search for Smitttens optimizer or download gamebooster from the web. With either of these you’ll be good to go on Windows 7. I personally use windows and with the latest traktor update it works excellent.
Macs are just better, but that has nothing to do with using it as a beginner DJ…they’re just better.
…and the war begins! LOLZ
No it doesn’t. This thread is a nano-second away from being closed like all Mac vc PC threads are![]()
