Macbook optimization?

Hi all,
So I’ve gotten myself a macbook pro 13’ inch specifically for the Kontrol s4.
The weird thing is i can only get it down to 7,3 ms of latency with core audio at 44100khz, which is 64 samples. The processing latency is like 2 ms, but the output latency is about 5 ms. If i use my “built in” speaker driver for my macbook, the output latency is almost non existent. Is there anything I can do to reduce the latency without changing the sample rate?

why would you need a lower latency than 7 ?!?! that is very low and a good value!

yeah, but I scratch a lot and I’ve heard people had latencies of 5 ms with older MacBooks. I bought mine like 2 weeks ago, so I wanna know what’s up with that.
It has 2.40 ghz i5, and 4 gigs of ram
it starts crapping out if I change the sample rate at the setting of 64 samples.
