Macbook Pro 2015 vs Macbook Pro 2016

Macbook Pro 2015 vs Macbook Pro 2016

I am planning to buy a new mac. I currently have a MacBook pro 13 inch, I5 8gb ram 512gb sdd. I am staring to use traktor and ableton together while mixing and I am getting sometimes I am getting CPU loads so I am planning to get a maxed out MacBook this time.

I am debating between buying the new 2016 MacBook or simply buying the same MacBook I have, but maxed out.

First option: 2,349.00$ before Taxes

2.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based SSD
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
Two Thunderbolt 2 ports

Second Option: 2,349.00$ before taxes

Macbook Pro 13inch late 2016

Touch Bar and Touch ID
3.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
16GB 2133MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based SSD
Intel Iris Graphics 550
Four Thunderbolt 3 ports

NO OTHER PORTS, ONLY 4 USB C. ADAPTERS AVAILABLE

I switched from maxed out 2015 to a semi-maxed out 2016 and didn’t find it was much faster. However it does seem to be able to cope better under load. (15" models)

The 2015 fans would spin up fairly easily.. hardly ever hear them on my 2016.

If I was in your position I would probably go with the 2015 maxed out. It’s an incredibly capable machine and you’re getting the bigger display (i think)

The first option is 15 inch and has a quad core processor, so it will give you better performance and a larger display than the second option.

i have an early 2016 pro without the touchstrip with the same specs. its a beast but i also really wish i had the 15"
