mapping question

mapping question

hello again!

sorry for opening the second thread this day but that forum seems like the perfect place to ask.

however, i wanted to map my numark total control to traktor pro. but when I deleted some functions of the original mapping, some leds start to turn on.

i know that the led light comes from the output command in traktor. but why are all of the functions assigned to another button that has nothing to do with the original function?

for example:

cue play is assigned on ‘NOTE B3’ as an output.
loop in/set cue is also assigned on ‘NOTE B3’ as a trigger.

how is this system working? i don’t understand.

any help? im getting frustrated..

hey dennis all you have to do is duplicate that midi note, the set it to output, press “learn” and press but dont release and then unclick learn. There is a possibility that it sends a different note when you release. Goodluck

i still dont get it.. which note should i duplicate and what shouldnt I release?

maybe this isnt working because i still i have traktor pro 1.1.1?

Create a new entry for CuePlay.

Hit learn
Press the key you’re using for CuePlay.
Duplicate the entry in the TSI/TKS
Change the type to Output (if you want an output for CuePlay. I usually don’t use it, instead having the output default from the Play button’s output)

do the same

i just found out that on the numark total control, the led midi nots are different to the the light where it will light up.. but nevertheless thanks everyone. =D

Go though the manual and look at the midi map, hopefully that will help you out.

nothing found in the manual, but as a registered member of the numark homepage you can get a description of all buttons.

i also got a list with button → led midi note, so if anyone is also bothering, ask here. ;D

another question:

when i use seek position with my jog wheel it works fine, but the track always jumps back to the beginning then. how can i fix that?

It jumps back to the beginning when you release the jog wheel ?

yeah :disappointed:

Does this unit send a midi message when you release the jog wheel ?

If so what do you currently have mapped to that message ?

i have mapped “seek position” to each jogwheel. (2 )

You do realise that that jog wheels send out multiple different messages right ?

Lets take the VCI-100 for example, it sends a midi message when you put your finger on the platter, another when your moving the platter and yet anothe when you release the platter.

I know you mapped seek position to the jog wheels but it sounds like you have something mapped to the platter release message(if that unit even has one)
