kid capri is a fkin clown who is just butthurt that no one gives a fk about scratching anymore.
I say no one as a general statement, not as a fact.
also, everyone fkin sucked, except for id say 3 of them, with @DJRoyale being one of the few who has actual talent. hes a huge dj in the Philly area. I highly advise u guys to check him out on youtube or soundcloud.
the show overall did a shitty fkin job at presenting the DJs and their skills (or lack there of)
and some of the DJs they picked, im baffled as to how they got on the show. makes me wonder if the producers picked shitty djs on purpose so we can see trainwrecks n talk bout em
overall, it was a shitty production and I hope it tanks.
the way the show was edited, it would cut in and out of a DJs performance to show reactions of the judges, then cut like 30 seconds to another part of the performance, and it would just make everything sound so awful.
The fact the let dj i-dee (USA DMC CHAMP) go after technical issues but kept the ipad dj is sad.
Chris Karns is the best turntablist on the show. if you dont know him where have you been hiding? look up DJ Vajra on youtube. He is the 2011 DMC World Champion.
The fact that some of the contestants have more DJing accolades than the judges makes the show laughable at best. Feel bad for I- Dee, he’s better than any of the judges and a majority of the contestants who made it into the 2nd round. It’s kind of like Season 1 when DJ Revolution was easily the most skilled DJ on the show but got the shaft early on.
I saw season 2, didn’t see season 1(yet). I think season 3 started off TERRIBLY! I’m just waiting for DJ Yonny to get back on the show in a later episode, but a lot of the DJs on there just made me wonder how they got on the show. I understand there is pressure, but it looked like a lot of people tried to impress the judges and failed.
So heres my issue. I didn’t care for the 1 minute audition. It left it up to ONLY those who were better with the timecode style vinyl scratching and laptop macro keys.
The second round apparently has them spinning for people, for a longer period of time in smaller groupings each episode.
The problem with I-Dee is he didnt do anything. I almost thought his serato was messing up, or the “timecode” was hitchy. Anyone know what was really up with that?
Its nothing like that Video. Well Episode one isnt.. Episode two will have longer sets with people to perform for.
Episode one was 1 minute auditions. Everyone using Serato and their own Laptop with two timecode vinyls (Sorry dont know what they call it in Serato) The episode focused ALOT more on scratching. Actually purely on scratching.
True. Those judges did I-Dee wrong. It was dirty how they instantly cut him due to what I feel was equipment error. Besides Kid I have never heard of the other two judges.
While I somewhat agree.. part of being a solid DJ is having you equipment that works… if it truely was equipment.. It was his Laptop, which he was in control of, every other DJ That came up before and after him had no issues.
So either he just locked up and couldnt beat match that first song, or he fubard his Laptop before the show? Who knows
I wont be watching the rest of it anyways. Scratching gives me a headache.. and thats apparently all this is going to be. Not actually blending and layering music, but how well you can chirp, crab and whatever else your way to 250k…
“Obviously from my facial expression and head shakes, something wasn’t “right” and it didn’t involve myself or the judges.”
So this leaves… the equipment, previous DJ (coming on after another DJ sometimes things are off), or the show’s producers have something to do with it. Not a good sign at all for how the rest of the show will be.
If Chris Karns gets kicked off… I’m done with the show. What credibility does your show have if you kick off two DMC champs?
