I think I like these because of the visibility, it’s clear from the floor what you’re eating, and to me that looks better than just ploughing yourself full of flapjack/smarties/pies.
That’s why the lollipop and strawberry lace are the best, they’re the “fire and forget” missiles of food! One you hold in your mouth constantly, and the other you can slowly devour as it hangs from your mouth, like sugary spaghetti!
I actually knew that, I also knew Chupa Chups is a Spanish brand, I guess I just didn’t put 2+2 together. I thought there was some Spanish Harlem fad of eating strawberry laces then!
I don’t eat behind the decks at any of my guest spots apart from recently i ate a whole burger king as i hadn’t had anything to eat and i was in my 3rd hour of playing (i was only meant to play a 50 minute set).. But everyone was eating so it was all good..
My residency is different, me and my back to back DJ usually have turns around and when i get off i often have a banana or some Haribo sweets or some starlight mints from the US if i have any left!
I used to dj at a strip club, and we were in a “real booth” where the people couldn’t really see us, and we would just chow down on some real food in there, ahh the good days…
I normally take a bag of Jelly Babies, high in sugar, low in fat which I normally consume before I go on so you’ll regularly find me on the dancefloor munching away!
As well as that, usually a flapjack or something similar. I have a high metabolism so eating often is a must.
I’ve actually had KFC from a Brixton chicken and chips shop while I was playing… Had to rush to play the opening set, so popped in and got some munch quickly, was eating while playing..
