Minimalistic Mixer

Does anyone know if the MM-1 knobs have center indents?

Just had a quick question about using a mixer with, say, an X1 or that CMD MM-1. How do you pitch bend with no jog wheel? Do you just sync the whole time?

An X1 and mixer setup would rely on sync yes.

I’d guess the MM-1 would have center indents as it’s being pushed specifically as a mixer, rather than a generic midi device.

“ringing bell sound”

X1 has pitch bend buttons.

X1 encoders can be re-mapped for pitchbanding too.

Is that a yes? Or am I being stupid haha.

Will make it more clear than, it’s yes to first and nope on second count mister.

How about the BCR2000? I used that before going with an APC40…wouldn’t that work for a mixer?

That would work perfectly for effects in DJ set, not so much for mixing IMO.

The intent of this mixer isn’t actually mixing. It’s for full control over the effects parameters (Channel faders for D/W and the 3 EQ knobs for the 3 different effect parameters per effects deck.

People will probably say that the MM-1 is overkill to only use for effects but I think it will be a fun hands-on way for 2 people to DJ together (With my buddy handling mixing and me the effects, then us swapping places every few songs).

im probably gonna sound like a newb here even tho im not, but you said minimalistic mixer, and i see people giving you references to go look at midi controllers… if you want very minimalistic mixer? try a djm 500 if you can find one… or maybe an old behringer

I said in the first post that I’m looking for a minimalistic midi mixer, no need for a soundcard
