Lol the first thing I see on that page is the 4TrackTrigger, possibly the most comprehensive, least “minimal” controller that money can buy!
most of their stuff is sold out and discontinued though.
yeah, the ft3 and the dj3 look pretty cool, but they don’t have anything that fits the bill for “4 channel faders and eqs only”.
I still think that the xsession pro is the closest someone could get to that, but it’s a shame that they’re so cheaply made.
I wonder if anyone has ever ventured to crack one open and replace the faders on it? I wonder if they’re integrated carbon strip faders like inside the korg nanokontrol?
That “shift plus push encoder” system seems like a great way to go directly to the bank you want to use! that’s the one thing I don’t like about my old style nanokontrol, is having to cycle through the pages.
I’m assuming the OP will be doing some DJing with his 4 channel mixer, which would require access to at least 2 channels worth of EQs at the same time.
If you can find it, the M-Audio X-Session Pro is dirt cheap. It has no LED feedback, looks like a toy as it is all plastic and thus may not stand up to a lot of abuse…but has 4 faders, 3 knobs for each of the 4 strips and a cross-fader.
You are probably better off waiting for the MM-1, but if you need something right away that won’t break the bank and won’t need to be super sturdy, the x-session pro may be ok for you.
BTW, I have a Xone:K2 that I had bought for that purpose and I don’t recommend it for DJ’ing. The channel faders have studio caps which renders them somewhat less than useful for DJ’ing (for me). In addition, the pots for each channel do not have a center detent making them too fiddly for me when adjusting EQs quickly during a mix. just my $0.02
