I’ts actually my first time in here so forgive me if this is posted into the wrong forum section.
Well I decided to ask you specialists as I really can’t help myself anymore.
I have Traktor Pro 2 on my MacBook Pro (Mac OS) and have two Denon DN SC2000’s mapped correctly to it, fully working, everything perfect.
Now the thing is, I need a Mixer, a mixer that can control Traktor 2 ofc. Midi is what you call that I think…
Well I’ve been looking through the internet and the forums since ages but really can’t understand what mixers can be connected to what…
Something with an Interface and Soundcards and then you can connect these mixers to Traktor but some USB Mixers can not be used on it.. Im really lost so I have to ask you guys to help me out!
Could you guys list me some Mixers that FULLY control Traktor 2…
You could get a mixer style midi controller like an m audio x-session pro and then mix internally with a USB sound card like a native instuments audio 2 DJ, or get an actual hardware mixer such as the Behringer DDM4000 and mix externally. For that you’d need a bigger sound card to use 4 channels though, like an Audio 8 DJ, and then you’re looking at quite a lot of money.
No only wrong forum, but wrong website. This is DJ Tech Tools. That’s okay though we welcome you with open arms and I moved the thread to the correct forum.
You might be able to get a use Audio 4 for around $150 if you can find one. The upgraded card is the Audio 6 and is $199 I believe.
Hehe, the number of times I’ve made that mistake. MrPopinJay always seems to be there and put me right. 2 aggregate Audio 2 DJs is a relatively inexpensive way to do it.
so there is no cheap version of the 4 Deck interface from NI? cuz its really just for 2.1 Comp speakers and an amp with 500 W speakers on them, nothing big..
Can’t he run the DDM4000 in midi mode and use an Audio 2? Or does that not work like that on the DDM4000? I really know nothing about that mixer at all.
DDM4000 has a mode for each channel where you can pass MIDI AND AUDIO at the same time.
4 channels in midi being sent to 2 channels on the DDM, with the gain being controlled by the grey Gain knobs
you could use a S4. although its a mini setup, mixer+turntables+soundcard fitting into one, its fits to your specs (4 channels, high mid lows, etc) and perfectly controls all of traktor’s features even with a visual extent. I havent heard of a midi standalone mixer that controls traktor but I would love to find out.
if you want to use a external non-midi mixer you need a soundcard. soundcards are used to connect your laptop to your dj equipment (turntables, mixer, CDJ’s…) many controllers are used to bypass soundcards since some of them like the s4 has a built in soundcard and mostly connect to your laptop directly via USB.
also wtf I bought a audio 6 dj for 250 where did u find one for 200??
