Hey!
I just got a mixtrack iii from numark (NOT THE PRO) And from when ive gotten it its had questionable failures that I want to ask about. The biggest one being the left jog wheel being semi-unresponsive when I try to scratch, sometimes it changes pitch and sometimes it scratches. And no, I have my hand on the top of the wheel and only on the top when i try this. The right one seems to do it a tad but not as much as this one. Its brand new and 2 days old. Is there some setting I have messed up or do i have to return.(I use virtual DJ 8) In addition, sometimes I cue something and the light goes on for cue, but then i try to uncue and it doesn’t work. I sometimes have to reopen the software because I open it as soon as my pc launches but at a gig in the future I don’t want to have to be worried about restarting software if the issue is the Mixtrack not my software. Thanks!
you get what you pay for bro. the controller is shit. im not gonna sugar coat it. if you are really wanting to make it out of your bedroom, get a DDJ-SB2
The mixtrack is a fine controller to learn on. It will teach you how to map and what you want out of your controller. I had a mixtrack 1 years ago and had no problem with it until I out grew it and wanted something different.
You don’t need a DDJ-SB2 to “make it out of the bedroom”. That’s a terrible attitude to have.
But should he should have low expectations for the jogwheels and their responsiveness to scratching.
personally i wish someone told me to get an SB2 over a mixtrack. consistent issues made it hard for me to learn on. would not reccomend. i picked up a gemini slate and was substantially better than the mixtrack. not that the gemini doesnt have problems of its own as well. you get what you pay for with these cheap controllers. best of luck
Download Traktor Pro 2 Demo and try to map jog wheel in the same way VDJ utilizes it. If it works fine in Traktor than the problem is in VDJ, if you get a same bug than the problem might be with the hardware.
Guys, it was my fault and only my fault. There was a clear see-through plastic cover on the wheel, limiting me and my responsiveness. Also, my friend has a sb2 and I have the mixtrack. I see no difference between the two and I would recommend this controller for a beginner. I love this controller and I am determined to get “out of the bedroom” with this controller just to prove my point.
i didnt say itd be impossible. i have a few friends that started on the mixtrack. but i personally have not found it reliable enough to gig with comfortably. and maybe it was just mine but i’ve also heard horror stories about other numark products. i like the enthusiasm and you can definitely make it out of your bedroom with it. just know that it might not last you as long as a controller with a better build quality will
