MP3 converter

MP3 converter

Can someone please recommend a program that convert files to mp3… The main thing I am worried about the credibility of the site I would download it from… I can’t find much about one on here or when I search

WAV/AAC → MP3 .. Itunes

Any other format, use a good sound editor such as audacity (Free), soundforge or audition.

Full version of MediaMonkey allows you to convert in multiple format + a bunch of other useful stuff.

Knowing your OS would help, Windows/Mac

Jester.NZ does iTunes loose any quality???

DjKeyWee I have Mac OS X 10.6.8

Thanks for the responses!!!

You can choose any quality you like in itunes.

@OP anytime you go from wav/lossless to MP3 you’ll lose quality.

All2Mp3

iTunes.

What you converting from?

I use iTunes or Audacity. You set the quality if the conversion in preferences under import settings. 320K is the highest MP3 rate. You’ll need to download the lame encoder for Audacity to work.

Convenient little program to do that in OS X is Switch.

I’m converting from wav… Simply cause they’re taking up too much space on my iPhone but if I’m loosing from wav to mp3 then I’d rather keep’em in wav cause these are edits, remixes, and new productions

use FLAC then. lossless format. Bigger than mp3, smaller than WAV, and support TAGs

Are you using the iphone to DJ your music or just listen to it? I’f you’re just listening there’s an option in itunes to convert any track to a smaller file format just on the iphone while keeping the original format in itunes on your computer.

iTunes, you select the file type and settings in the prefs>import settings, then right click on a song “create (filetype) version”.

+1 on Switch!
