Multi-core support Traktor?

Is enabling multi-core support a good thing or a bad thing on a macbook pro?

I’m new to digital djing and not sure if this is a good thing and couldnt find too much about it…

Yes it’s a good thing.

It was a bit of a hit and miss thing as soon as it dropped but it’s rock solid for most people now (for the record, I never had issues with it).

Good Thing.

Just allows you to utilize all the core’s from your CPU.

Is there any word on this? I just set Traktor to analyze 80 tracks (Traktor 2.6 on Windows 8 Pro 64bit) and it’s only utilizing one core on my Q6600..
Can anyone else check this on their Windows/Mac?

It doesn’t seem to do anything. When you analyse tracks, it still only uses 1 core/thread so it only does 1 track at a time. When Traktor is in use for DJing, it’s only using 1 core/thread as you can see in Task Manager.

Traktor isn’t very well optimised for powerful hardware. My PC has a CPU with 8 cores, each running at 3.5 GHz, and I can encode 8 tracks at once with dBpoweramp really quickly, so there’s no excuse for Traktor only being able to analyse 1 track at a time. Serato will analyse 1 track per core/thread, for instance.

For track analyzing its fairly slow even on a powerful system my x3100 oc at 3.6 does it as quickly as my quad core desktop at 2.9ghz
