Music Files - Basic Trims EQ Settings

Music Files - Basic Trims EQ Settings

Hi All,

I don’t know if this is the right wording I’m using but here goes.

We all get our music from various places and sources.

I’ve been using Wavelab to trim my files and normalize to -1db.

What software can i use in order to to a better job at setting the EQ for songs in order to have bass, mids, treble all ons level.

Almost have a preset whereby all music in future will be put through in order to have minimal differences.

Is this possible?

I bought a program, MP3 doctor but am not to happy with that.

Any suggestions

Regards and thank you,

DJ Stone

You want a program that does the job of mixing for you? good luck

Try Audacity. I’m not an expert with it, but it should do what you want. You should also try to always buy songs that are 320k. You may be trying to mix some 128k songs with 320k songs and there’s pretty much no way to make that sound right unless your drinking.

Tank you,

No Jester, not to do the job for me.
I just want to prepare my songs and have the EQ’s as close as possible as well as the volume levels.

Thanks again

“Mp3Gain” will normalize your files…however I would avoid any eq adjustments personally. Many of the tracks you get are carefully eq’d and mastered in the production process. I asume you would have to use a DAW of your choice and re-adjust the frequency, and export that track to mix live. However, Im pretty sure you will destroy much of your tracks dynamics by doing this. I find that careful eq adjustments and gain control from the mixer will sound better.

Im sure someone will chime in to dispute that but thats my 2 cents.

I really don’t think you need to do what you think you need to do.
