With my new copy of Minimonsta I have found that there are well lots of pad’s and basses that I really like, now would it be possible to run that vst say 2 or 3 times in different channels of a track, or would i need to lay down say main pad record it and then use the vst again on another channel and record those sounds?
then use the arrangement page to rearrange them how i want them?
obviously as you can tell having only been playing around with Ableton for a few months my work flow is not that flowing yet!
yes you can do that easily.. just go into your plugin browser windows on your left.. drag the vst synth into the different midi channels you want.. and done.. you got it runing in each channel you placed it in.. you can do this with any plug in… and with processes (effects) you can put as many of the same effect plugin in anyone channel if you really like
ableton is very easy to use like that.. i would recommend using the ableton tutorials as well.. they can be found by going to the help topic in ableton
thank you m8, i did just that and had it running in 4 channels without any problems, I have a tutorial DvD which i will be sitting down and studying again thanks all for the tips, it’s a great bit of kit to pick up and put down when i fancy trying stuff out.
