Native Instruments - 50% Off Massive, FM8, And Razor
Hi Everyone,
I saw this recently on facebook and I just had to share this AMAZING deal with everyone here!!
“There’s no escape from the bass invasion. Native Instruments are proud to have helped shape bass music and dubstep with a trio of formidable synths: MASSIVE, RAZOR and FM8. Now you can pick up any of these interstellar instruments – renowned for devastating subs and laser-like leads – for half price, or get all three for only $199 / 179 €. This offer ends June 24th. Resistance is futile!”
Yeah but they advertise Razor as working with Reaktor Player and they don’t tell you you won’t be able to save patches properly unless you own Reaktor.
Foot in the door phenomenon. Also known as one of the easiest ways to manipulate people into doing things they don’t want to do but are vaguely related to something they’d consider.
I know a lot of companies do it…just about everybody does. But that doesn’t make it okay.
I think every day I want to ditch NI completely just a little bit more.
Haha – indeed! Thanks for the heads up though. I didn’t realize Razor was part of Reaktor. Decisions. I think I’m going to get it. I’m not totally in debt yet. Definitely some more space.
I just can’t. I want to play with Reaktor, but…I just can’t deal with NI’s “players”. In Maschine it’s relatively straightforward and transparent (if you’re using or starting from a preset that’s saved as a Maschine sound, at least) but it’s just so fucking pointless. It wastes resources and kludges up workflows.
If they dropped Reaktor and Guitar Rig for synth and effects hosting, I’d have a little respect left. Kontact makes sense because it’s basically a sampler with a bunch of libraries, right? But Reaktor and GR are just stupid unless you’re actually using them to build your own shit or for amp modelling.
There’s way too much awesome stuff out there to bother with a company that makes it hard to use their products.
From the tutorials/intros I’ve looked at for the 3 items above, if you’re using them in a DAW, you just load them as a VST in your DAW.
Razor looks to be the most fun. Of course I have little time to mess w/ anything, but I’ve found that Animoog got me back into the “tinkering” mode, as it’s not a traditional synth. Much more visual, and in my experience rewarding. I can mess w/ it when I’m taking a dump, too!
what do people think of massive+fm8+razor? seems to be a pretty low price for such a lot of synths… pretty sure i’ll grab a copy of massive but on the fence regarding spending another 100 and getting the other two. any thoughts? i.e: could my 200usd be better spent elsewhere? i’ve only played about with free vst’s so far - and like the idea of getting some decent soft synths.
cool cheers i’m going to download some demos if they exist of all 3. everyone seems to rave about the big sounds that massive can create and i’m impressed with what i’ve heard of razor so far. never been a big fan of synths like the yamaha dx7, so not sure about fm8. there again that was a long time ago
could well be the case… have to hope that upgrade prices aren’t too bad tho
ah… ok. just reading more about them now, didn’t really understand the whole plugin/free-player thing before. still don’t probably with razor only costing 40usd i guess i can’t go wrong really with grabbing massive+razor for 140usd…
