Native Instruments hints at new Traktor controller. Xone:K2 Competitor?

must resist to say anything! aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh

pretty sure this is what my rep was leaving subtle hits about… either way put me down for 2!

a soundcard and usb hub will only be beneficial if you are thinking this is a midi mixer. (which i don’t think it is). If it really is an add on controller (or Kontroller  ) to control sample decks (which i believe it is) then a sound card and usb hub is a COMPLETE waste of cost and hardware so i doubt they will be included.

I’m with them!

You can PM me to relieve some of the tension. I won’t tell

Jesus, some people are considering buying this already based on some rumors, one picture, and the fact that it will have a NI logo.

I love NI, but I 'm gonna wait and see.

Really this is a bit of a stretch - while your drawing is remarkably similar it is hardly rocket science to come up with such a layout when designing a sample deck controller.

However who really knows…

More like Midifighter Pro knock off :stuck_out_tongue: JK Im sure it’ll be great if you really wanna buy a good Traktor setup on the cheap you should be able to buy an X1 at a time plus 1/2 of these and you’d be good to go. Not a huge investment right off the bat.

has NI yet to release anything not worth buying?

I don’t doubt NI has plans for this kind of integration but I think it’s also a ways off, they just came out with 2.1 not to long ago. Something like this seems like it would require serious overhaul of both programs for the workflow to be very streamlined. I feel like they have a ways to go in streamlining the use of samples so they need to figure that out before they try doing Maschine. But I could be wrong. For all I know it could be something as simple as making Maschine available as a Deck D option, again this isn’t much different then what you can do now with just syncing them and outputting it on one of the channels.

looks like my NAMM wants are coming true
Hopefully NAMM will be the emergence of the modular dj midi units.

Wants:

 • x1 width 2 channel mixer unit with xfader. Much like the xone k2 but less xoney.
 • novation twitch mk2?
I much prefer the loop/move loop functionality of the S4 to the X1 felt like I wasn’t really getting much for my money. Although honestly I would probably enjoy Traktor much more if the mapping system weren’t such a joke.

Traktor’s mapping system has serious pro’s and con’s.

It’s very customizable and lets you get deep functionality from any unit as we’ve seen with the versatility of the VCI 100 mapping.

At the same time for a new user to setup a quick simple mapping that does some of the essentials, takes much longer then it should.

Anytime I ever think about doing a mapping of my own I always get turned off by the idea of working with such a crappy mapping window.

This is quite easy to map, it’s part of the mapping I posted on traktorbible.com

This is my problem, I don’t have all that much free time and everytime I want to tinker with a custom map in Traktor it takes HOURS. There’s no reason they can’t massively rework the midi editing window or at least give us the option to expand it.

Thanks dude, I’ll look into that, looking to map this functionality into the encoders on my DN-X1600.

Yes, there is one thing: Time control CDs and that’s pretty much all I can think off. I even got traktor slipmats ffs, but still I 'm going to wait and see.

If it has 4 faders + no soundcard … jester buy

this plus an xfader. oli buy

Why a cross fader?
