Need Help setting up my bedroom studio !!!

hey everyone, i just got some stuff on ebay for my studio and i need asistance setting it up all together, i need to figure out a way to plug in the microkorg microphone, the keyboard and the speakers all into the audiocard.. im kinda still a rookie when it comes to prouction so please help !! The audio card is an audio 6

you should start by putting the rokits lower to the ground, in fact under the table would work nice. Thats how most producers work.

Haha, what?
Either I don’t get the sarcasm or this is one of the most blatantly wrong posts I’ve read in a while (and there’s generally no shortage of those). Tweeters should be at ear height!

It’s Sarcasm dude :stuck_out_tongue:

The OP has his speakers on the ground - which NEEDS to be corrected, where they are right now is a complete a waste of speakers.

Get some Wall brackets, stands or shelves ASAP

As for the Soundcard, just plug the Korg in to the audio inputs - simple,

Mic you’ll need a preamp as the Audio6 does not have a mic input.

speakers into two of the RCA outputs ..

keyboard ? … sry you lost me - what keyboard.

All the routing depends then on your software .. so unless you tell us more :-S

Heres what to do.

  1. List down all your gear (including computer)
  2. List your software
  3. Tell us what do you want to do exactly.

OR

Get a small mixing desk for under $100 and plug everything into that and THEN into the audio card.

the audio 6 has mix and line inputs..

Haha, guess I should’ve actually looked at the picture. My bad

I blame it on being annoyed by the fact that it’s saturday night and I have to stay home. Bloody flu, so extremely boring.

It’s a Komplete Audio 6 so there’s no need for an extra preamp or mixing desk.

The only things you may need to buy are additional wires:

2x Balanced(stereo) TRS cables from Audio 6 to Rokits
2x Balanced(stereo) TRS cables from Microkorg to Audio 6
2x MIDI cables from Microkorg to Audio 6

Microphone ?

It looks like the only microphone in the setup is the one onboard the Microkorg.

hehe, could be I thought he was just missing a comma :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, heres the deal, i have a Microkorg XL, an Audio 6 interface , Vestax Vci 300 , Pair of Rokit 8 and the microphone integrated on the Microkorg.. I’ve been trying all day to set up my studio but it doesn’t seem to work.. bough a bunch of cables but still .. got 4 trs cables and 2 instrument cables .. any suggestions ?

What doesn’t seem to work?

Well what i’m trying to do for a starter is to connect the rokit 8, the interface and my Vestax vci 300 midi controller all together .. what i’ve been trying to do is i connected the monitors to the interface and then connected the controller to the interface .. i seem to be getting signal because the green button turns onn and off with the beats but i dont get any audio .. also i got a cd with the interface i install it and no software shows up ? is that normal ? i dont really know :stuck_out_tongue:

Please enlighten us …

A CD of what exactly - what software are you going to use ? … what Computer System are you planning on using it on (windows / mac etc … does it even meet minimum specs?) you are better of downloading the latest software from each manufacturer after reading the manuals.

Why on earth are you connecting the controller which already has a sound card to an audio interface :-S - this makes zero sense.

You do realize that manuals and support are available on each of the respective manufactures websites.

Honestly it sounds like you are trying to compete with Usain Bolt before you can crawl (never mind walk) - start with ONE controller and ONE piece of software and go from there (read point above).

IMHO start with getting sound out of the VCI300 - it’ll be the most straight forward.

RTFM
no but seriously, this is one of the most confused threads i’ve seen in a while.

for reference

maybe you should check your preference in the software. even if you connect all your stuff correctly, if your audio output is not optimized correctly, you would not get any sound.

for clarification to us who are trying to help. what software are you using? ableton? traktor? cubase? etc.

arsman is there anyway i can plug in my controller to the setup ?

i am using a mac.. i am sorry for the noobness :stuck_out_tongue: haha

If you are using Serato, connect the VCI to your KA6 using TRS cables and use the Direct Monitoring feature.
http://www.native-instruments.com/knowledge/questions/1229/How+does+the+direct+monitoring+feature+work+in+my+KOMPLETE+AUDIO+6+%3F

Otherwise, just use the KA6 as your sound card for your software output.
