Need House music suggestions

Need House music suggestions

I am looking for suggestions on classic house music (and electro house) that will appeal to a college audience who are expecting a dance party. Looking for stuff similar to Laidback Luke’s music, and stuff as vocal and appealing as David Guetta. Also would love suggestions for top 40 house remixes. Vocals are definitely better as your average joe can feel more connected with the music, but that isn’t going to stop me from playing pjanoo (5 times lol  jk).

Here are some tracks that I play with my classic house sets, hope you like.

that is indeed some classic house JesC, love it!

some favorite artists and specific tracks I play at college house parties for a bunch of 18-21 year olds:

Wolfgang Gartner - Clap, Frenetica, Flashback
Ida Corr
Don Rimini
Jokers of The Scene
Fake Blood - Mars (of course) and remixes, check out Cheap and Cheerful and Stuck on Repeat
Jan Driver - Rat Alert
Alex Kidd
Foamo
Project Bassline
Jack Beats remixes
Deadmau5 - Hi Friend, and Reward is More Cheese
AC Slater -BanGer and remixes, check out Turn The Music Up and Samo Ti. Also good mixtapes to check out on his myspace.

A few choice Crookers and Beetroots tracks, and the Dolby Anol remix of Use Somebody which I discovered in this mix, all popular with the college kids.

yea definitely like them, would love any other suggestions.

you cant go wrong with Deadmau5 (he cops a lot of shit but is still good), there is a new young gun called Uppermost which i think is really good

MSTRKRFT
The Bloody Beetroots
Sebastian Leger
Bart B More
John Dahlback
Eric Prydz
The Presets
AC Slater
Digitalism
Wolfgang Gartner
Dave Spoon

the list goes on…

Here are some ideas, but then again it might just be my taste. Most of the tunes are reasonably new and proberly arnt recognised as classics. I have included to tracks without vocals, but they fkin rock.

I have put a astrix next to my favourite of the lot:

You can always download the “Promo Only” mainstream/radio/underground/alternative club CD’s. They have a few songs on each that can be used and are “popular”(US). They are released monthly. I also check some for the dance radio’s websites to get some ideas. They post most of the mixers late night set lists. Most also offer listen/buy features for alot of the songs they play. Amongst the great names above, I would also add Kaskade, Yves Larock, Ultra Nate, Kim Sozzi, Cascada, Peter Luts & Dominico, Freemasons, etc..and, as I’m sure you know, most top artists release mass amounts of remixes by alot of these artists too. Good luck.
I have a few 60min. mixes with similar songs for free download on my myspace.com/bodegabrad if you want to check any of them.

BTW Show me love - posted by jesc is essentially the same track as below, however this remix (Reach Out feat Rowetta_Mobin Master Dub Mix)

Has an incredible build up before it drops hat signiture sample…

again my opinion, but it rocks so much harder

Reach Out feat Rowetta_Mobin Master Dub Mix *

For Electro House for college kids I would play…

JesC…

Nightcrawlers - Push the feeling on

Yesssssssssss!!! As soon as I saw this thread I thought of that song. The 2008 Robbie Rivera Remix is pretty tight, too.

Deadmau5’s remix of Daft Punk’s “Harder…” is excellent.

Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite (Crookers Remix)” is still pretty popular…

Marcel Woods - “New Feeling” is sick.

Anything by Digitalism. I’m personally a fan of ‘Homezone.’

Have fun…

Homezone (Proxy Remix)

Yeah that remix is actually pretty cool. I’m more a fan of the original… but either way you can’t really go wrong.

im really likin the A-Trak mix of Idealistic

I would put a vote in for Eletone by True Psuedo and DJ Kue’s Don’t Get High

This is great, I am seeing lots of new stuff that I am liking and lots of stuff that I new of certain singles before, but was looking for the right version (i.e. show me love) I was and am literally listening to a laidback luke hardwell sunrise mix as I read your post xolunt and am writing this one. It is also good because I am seeing lots of stuff that I was planning on playing (LMFAO, RIO, yves larock, kid cudi, mstrkrft, gartner, etc.) so thanks and don’t stop posting but it is going to take me a while to go through all the stuff you guys have listed.

oh just want to contribute to this thread a little myself,
“get down ft. dougie rogers - Dirty South” (this track is sick)

oh oh oh!

ever heard Daft Punk???

:stuck_out_tongue:

Pyramid (Dirty South Remix) - John Dahlback

Catchiest tune ever!

You guys have a strange, strange idea of what classic house looks like.

M People “How Can I Love You More” Sasha Qat Mix

Livin’ Joy - Dreamer

Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love / Gypsy Woman

Source feat. Candi Stanton - You’ve got the Love

Hey man,

a few tracks for you to consider here. Mainly some old classics but I threw in a few more recent additions at the end.

Enjoy
