Personally I’m hoping For an RGB LED model like the 3D, only without the ridiculous “motion controls”, and with some proper knobs faders and buttons like the pro series.
I’m a little disappointed that DJTT is discontinuing the MF Classic. I think if the price was fixed at $125 from now on (half the price of the 3D), they would sell a lot. But then again, they are handmade, and the staff probably needs to focus their time on new projects. Perhaps they can get mass-produced overseas like the 3D. Oh well, sad to see the MFC go!
I agree. Hell, a full DJTT setup would be awesome ! But sadly the company is in no position to make a mixer.
Yeah, real sad. I was thinking of getting one for so long. Now I just might as well get maschine, because velocity sensitive pads and so much more + the maschine software + free massive
I don’t think MF3D + knobs/faders makes sense… It would be too large and difficult to hold up and control while moving around.
I would also love to see a mixer. Perhaps an actual hardware mixer would be too difficult, but a midi mixer like the upcoming Behringer CMD MM-1 would be feasible? I think it also really makes sense since many people who buy Midi Fighters probably have modular setups and would benefit from having a portable mixer to go with their modular controllers.
Well nah, the idea is that it would have knobs + faders instead of silly motion controls that require you to pick up the device.
The mixer idea is obviously not going to happen for a great many reasons… But within this context, they’re releasing something in the place of the MF classic, they wouldn’t release a mixer instead.
The most likely case is that they’re just releasing a MF with RGB LEDs, but no motion controls or side buttons.
This was my thought immediately when I saw that “..something new…” was coming. I want the RGB of MF3D, but don’t really have a need for the motion controls. Don’t ever see myself using the motion controls at all, but the RGB feedback and remix deck integration is very nice. At the sale price, the MF Classic still has some appeal: to me, it makes a lot of sense as an Ableton Drum Rack controller (I don’t need velocity-sensitive pads for what I do…).
I would be down with a Launchpad-esque MIDI Fighter, something with an 8x8 grid of arcade buttons and some extra bells and whistles.
I’d also like to see some kind of revised MIDI Fighter Pro. I LOVE the super faders on my Beat Masher. I’d like to see more of these on more controllers.
If its only rgb lights it wouldn’t be much of a change at all.
The motion control would have never been guessed before hand so who knows. But the rgb would be really nice

[/quote] It’d be a big enough change to replace the MF classic… it’s not like they’re making a huge deal out of it like they did with the MF3D
That’s a solid point actually… We wouldn’t have predicted the 3D, because motion controls are gimmicky and minimally useful, and pressure-sensitive arcade buttons would also be gimmicky and minimally useful. You might be on to something.
