I just started this project “52 to ZHU”
I am determined to release one track every week for 52 weeks, and film myself. I think this is the way to separate myself from the herd.
It’s indeed a noble goal but quality is not equal to quantity. Something I learned the hard way. Anyway, kind of cool someone has the stamina to sit 60 hours/week in the studio.
yea, it is something i debated too, its a huge risk but huge reward. but sometimes u dont know until u just go for it. i feel my production aspect is as good as any of the top edm producers, its just marketing after that and unique different sound
Not sure if that’s something I would want to be bragging about to be honest, but as long as you’re putting out quality stuff and trying to push yourself as an artist by branching out into different sounds and vibes have at it
To be honest, after checking out the Youtube video, assuming all the music in is is from you, I’m far from excited to hear what you come up with. Same commercial BS that’s been doing the rounds for a minute, nothing to get excited about.
Are you saying it’s not commercial sounding compared to what’s on top40 radio these days?
Would you rather have me just slap him on the back and send him on his merry way, or just give my honest thoughts about this and hopefully he’ll take note and try to push himself to do something different instead of just releasing the same exact sounding track but with different chord progressions?
well just stay posted. there are 52 weeks to convince people to listen so, it may not be you. i will expand into different genres too, but my music may not be for everyone, which is fine.
Didn’t read any of the replies to your thread, but I will tell you that releasing Quality over quantity is going to separate you from the herd… There’s enough shit music out there. invest time into making quality music and work on finding “your sound” I found in production that once you stop trying to sound like someone else and start making stuff that sounds like you is when your music actually becomes good and separates you from the metaphorical herd. Just to make it clear to I’m not saying don’t be inspired by music you like, just don’t try to make a carbon copy of it. Good luck to you
