old news.
Looks pretty nice. Those buttons look kinda small though.
not really an S4 competitor though. It doesn’t have jog wheels or the LED feedback that the S4 has…i don’t think these 2 products attract the same folks.
has anyone seen that 52" touch screen controller?
^^
Pissed myself..!
One thing can be said that the new Faderfox will be a good product. They make great stuff.
Its not in the same category as the S4 though.
My God its 1400euros… what !!!
Too many tiny little buttons
I think the ableton dj’s could love it. But for that price? Hm i don’t know. Faderfox does indeed build solid stuff but 1400 bugs?
For years on this forum I’ve been reading people crying out for a comprehensive Traktor controller which mimics the screen layout and all of the visible functions. If you take a look at the face of this thing, it’s got it all.
I’d ride real hard for this controller if it didn’t look like a pain to take to gigs.
I think it’s a really cool piece of studio kit.
this
exactly what I was thinking! for that price though you could have a 92 and some x1s.
drop the price by two thirds and ill have it.
they’re producing it in limited numbers, so that’s probably why it’s a bit more expensive. It looks like the 4midiloop team developed the tech and FaderFox is helping with distribution.
except the ability to scratch, which is a screen function using the mouse if you don’t have a controller.
there’s ‘having it all’ and ‘having it all’, and this looks too busy imo. not feeling the design/look of it either.
the prototype was nice, but this just doesn’t feel right somehow. it’s like it has so much flexibility, it’s inflexible. it’s too sterile and doesn’t look fun (kind of like a freshly cleaned hospital ward and all the nurses are 80, and men)
There is a knob on the controller that allows you to turn it and “scratch” with it.
I know a lot of people here use Faderfox’s but i’ve never liked the design of them, and this one is especially off the charts. Sure it may have a button for every Traktor function but it seems very squished and loud. I don’t get how people can say the S4 is a toy because this too me looks way more like a toy
All the buttons and knobs etc are from Faderfox. There is no way on earth that a Midi controller is worth 1400 euros.
It is essentially 4 Faderfox units in a box with faders. Its nice, it will be a joy to use but it is massively over priced.
It is a simple midi controller with a nice x-fader and that is it.
Check out that video on the developers’ website. Guy’s cutting vinyl timecode on one deck.
By now I’m sure the industry realizes that anyone wanting to scratch fundamentally wants to use turntables. Don’t think that’s going to change until technology allows turntablists to do it better and have more fun doing it with MIDI.
And that’s a long way off with the mindset of the current generation of DJs and controller developers.
nah, its still really nice to pitch bend with the jog wheels, use them for effects for subtle and or fast amounts, searching, and I do think the scratching is great even if its not vinyl. I see this being less intuitive than the s4 by much but I believe when you get used to a controller this is not a big problem, that said I still think there would be more margin of error due to the small buttons.
i dont really think this can be classed as a competitor for the s4
