[quote]In 2018 we will unveil new Traktor hardware and software …

It seemed like this “new software” would be the rewrite, and not just another Traktor Pro update.
I don’t have any real reason to believe I’m right, but it seems like the reason for that on the D2/S5/S8 was the screens…you map things far enough away and you just don’t get the information you need on the screens (without a lot of effort). I think it’s worth it because I like what those controllers do. But something more normal seems like there’s no reason for those problems.
Early enough to maybe influence your selection of hardware - I was replacing a well-used and much-loved S4 - I could have held out a little longer for the new S2. In my opinion a ‘better’ machine than the MK2.
If your purchase was withink the last 3 months, return it. Otherwise, place everything all nice and neat back in the original packaging and sell in like new condition for a 20% discount.
So, TP3 seems like it has Scratch built in. Right now, if you buy TP2, you get a free upgrade to TP3 when it is released. But, you have to pay for the upgrade if you already own TP2 and Scratch? Or am I missing something?
NI always do this. They usually call it a ‘Grace Period’ so if you buy TP2 within a small time period near to the release date (at the same price at the new full version) you get a free upgrade. It’s standard practice.
If you bought TP2 outside of the grace period you won’t get a free upgrade.
Nobody benefits more than anyone else. When the next version of Traktor comes out, those that purchased within the grace period will not qualify for the next grace period but they will qualify for a discounted version as do all TP2 owners do now.
This attracts new users early and boosts preorders and, it’s fair for new users.
