the download is to traktor pro 1. they say on the page that the tp2 demo isnt out yet and allow you to sign up for the newsletter than theyll email you when it is.
i really hope they release a mapping for this software to work with the vci100se
Ean has said that DJTT will make one.
It would be rude not to ![]()
well then they will have my money
all of it?
well that wouldnt be saying much
If your paying mate ill send you a TSI on the 1st April![]()
My computer is foobar…Flash, anyway.
What’s the pricing/upgrade scheme for us long time TP1 users?
The update looks great and have a lot of creative possibilities. IMHO it makes a solid upgrade to Traktor Pro. I’ll definitely get it day 1.
Question thou, If you have Traktor S4 and you upgrade to Traktor 2, does you get to keep TS4 like TP users get to keep the first version or it simply changes the whole thing to TP2?
Better iTunes integration and BPM analysis written to ID3 tags, maybe? pretty please?
prays to all that is holy
You get to keep S4 as well.
They are 2 wholly separate applications.
Happy! Any word if S4/TP2 users may get TP1? Just in case they need to iron out the kinks on the first versions and you need a solid version for a gig… (I asked this in other thread but bananas…)
COLORED WAVEFORMS. They are beautiful. I want.
they are really going the for a more performance orientated approach. i looks really good with lots of cool new shit, but it may be getting a bit complex for some. not sure.
seems like they are seeding the mass market to serato. with serato’s simpler layout and controls and video integration, it looks like it will still be the dominant software.
i’ll stick with traktor, but i was hoping they would take a shot at video so they could take over more of serato’s market, which would force more clubs to have traktor preinstalled.
Anything else would be uncivilized.
I’ll try to reserve judgment until it’s actually out but honestly I’m a bit underwhelmed so far. Don;t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to the sampler and better loop control, but those features have been a long time coming anyway. Same with colored waveforms; I’m glad the waveforms will carry more information but it’s hard to get terribly excited about something so basic when features (and fixes) that people have been asking for for a long time do not seem to be priorities. Will MIDI mapping still be the same tedious mess that it currently is? Can you at least make the same change to several controller settings at once by highlighting them? Can you do the midi mapping in a text editor? Has the key lock sound been improved? Will the browser be any easier to navigate? Flexible beatgrids? Or at least beatgrids where you can re-set the beat count with a new beatmarker? Any new patterns on some of the effects like gater and beatslicer? How about a slip mode or loop roll capability? The ability to not waste hotcues on beatgrids and load markers? A lot of these are simple things that have been requested for a long time – some, like flex beatgrids, I understand them taking their time with, but others, like better hotcueing, would be trivially easy to implement. It’s not like I’m asking for video, hehe.
All that said, I’m a traktor whore and will probably purchase the update the second it’s available
… and an hour or two later post on here how great it is. I just wish it felt like there was more of a willingness to fix minor annoyances.
i love traktor, but the nice thing about serato is that the software is free. anyone can just plug their laptop in and go, right away. if you showed up to a club and there was an audio 10 or 8, and you didn’t own the traktor software, you’re screwed. traktor’s what i use and feel very comfortable with, but ill always keep a copy of ssl on my hard drive just in case.
EDIT: nevermind. i’m completely wrong. on the new soundcard page on the main blog it says the audio 6 & audio 10 are “Compatible with all DJ, performance and audio software”
whoo hoo!
hm
What’s the point of colored waveforms? I don’t get it..
The way how the new deck sizes look like is pretty nice though. Those mini decks will be really good for browse mode.
The lack of an easy MIDI learn function is definitely the biggest fail. This upsets me the most. ![]()
I think the sample decks are the only major upgrade. But I’m not sure if I need them personally. Not really my style (yet?
)
So after all not too excited about that. Maybe I upgrade, maybe not ![]()
