This looks interesting. I’ve thought this was the best controller on the market as far as looks and features go but it wasn’t really compatable with Traktor. It seems like they’ve fixed that and other issues. I guess we just wait for the reviews… http://www.skratchworx.com/news3/comments.php?id=1662
I’m not sure what they did in the new version but they specifically say it works with Traktor. How well? is another question. We’ll have to wait and see.
It’s a bit of a curveball, it’s not itch certified and won’t work with SSL so your options are Traktor, VDJ, Torq and Mixvibes. If it doesn’t work properly with Traktor then you’re limited to the last 3 which would turn me off completely even if I were into scratching and wanted that big platter…
I wonder if the spinning platter is actually operated by internal firmware? I’m pretty sure Traktor won’t out output a spin command (hencce not working with NS7 platters) but it might be operated by the unit itself.
OK so I phrased it badly, but can someone confirm to me that Traktor does in fact support spinning platters? because I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work with the NS7.
Spinning platters send out relative CC messages just like non-spinning platters. “Spinning platters” isn’t a standard in and of itself, so there’s not a way to really answer your question.
Does Traktor support the type of platter messaging Numark have selected for their NS7 controller? THAT’s your question.
To answer your question about the SCS.1d, yes it does work with Traktor. It was designed to do so. What people are asking here is if there is some kind of DIRECT support for the SCS.1d. What that implies is a lower level communication (like HID) that offers better performance than the current MIDI solution does. And the answer to that is no.
