Yup, It happend last week when my friend was asking me about sound cards, I told him to look into geting a either an M-Audio or Gigaport for the money that he had avail. He comes back with a DJ I/O? I was like really man, for 20 - 30 bux more you could have got a better card.
Oh I won’t get into it. As I like to try to at least come across as unbiased.
But at any rate, I told them to pick up the VCI-100, and they ended up with a cheeep knockoff.
They said “the vci-100 was too expensive” and my only response was “well..you could have waited the 4 days until you were in town, and we could have gone together and found something within your price range!”
of course i also spent like 10 minutes going “NOOOO! take it baaaack!”
Hell, one guys said “I’m going to buy this mixing board” And I said, “Why?”
He couldn’t give me a reason, but wanted it, so he bought it, and never used it. I told him he’d have been better off giving me the money and I’d have bought myself something nice
well…some times ppl ask for advice but dont necessarily take it…I for one have been guilty of that…I some times ask for ppls opinion but whether or not I listen is all subjective on how I feel about the whole thing…For example all my buddies told me not to get with one of my ex gf’s cus she was nothing but trouble…and man where they right…but i guess i was just too drawn in by the physical side of the relationship…harhar stupid ass me
I know where you’re comin from Monika…what can you do tho? Live and learn…
…oh and support your friend with the million questions they will have about their product not working properly because they didn’t listen to you in the first place.
Yeah i shouted that at myself for buying the Behringer BCD3000. Unfortunately I didnt hear myself as that was last year and I havent yet been able to figure out how to bend space-time. Its all good though I’ve got a VCI 100 now
Product bashing, no way. But when someone ask for advise on gear to purchase and they are new to the digital world. We “advise” and “recommend” based out our experience. I previously mentioned about my friend buying the I/O, he returned it in less than a week and got the audio 8. I told him it was overkill for what he needed, but he we ahead and got it.
Hey, I have a great deal of responsibility. It takes a lot of effort to consistently tell people about google, manuals and search functions without wanting to throw my computer out the window and take up a life of no technology.
