Nothing but sample decks - Driven Loopy

This more a proof of concept mini mix, that is going to accompany something i’m writing up

6 minute mash-up/remix session of Katy B - Lights On and Sidney Samson - Riverside, performed in Traktor Pro 2 with nothing but loops in the sample decks.
14 Loops juggled in all, 3 from Katy B and 4 from Sidney Samson, seasoned with 7 from a couple of sample packs and garnished with some beatmasher

Keep an eye open for a blog post about using Traktor in this way - finishing touches being applied to what I have learned/discovered - cheesey tracks used to make it easier for people to identify what is happening, no animals harmed, but my ears will never be the same again

There has to be a decent way to use the sample decks without them sounding shit… and this may just be it. Effort pal!!

That was pretty nice sounding, and the levels all seemed reasonable despite working from multiple loop decks. Not knowing either of the tracks involved, I’m not sure how much you were doing when, which may be an achilles heel of this type of loop-driven mix, especially when the source material is loopy/tracky? +1 on wanting to see a write-up/etc.
