Novation Launchkey 25 MK2, InControl Features Not Working in Ableton
So the keyboard works with Ableton.. I assign 1 midi channel to a keyboard instrument & it can play normally…
This works properly in Live 9 lite & in Live 8 (regularly bought).
But, as predicted, the InControl part of the Launchkey25 doesn’t work at all.
The pads act as more keys.
I have the MIDI INPUT section of Ableton preferences setup just like the manual says to set it up.
Of course, the RGB pads don’t light up or change to cool colors as advertised.
It doesn’t mimic the Ableton session like it’s supposed to.
After hours of research I found that the keys are mapped to midi 1 & the pads are mapped to midi 10.
So I changed the inputs of 2 midi tracks and now I can at least control a drum rack I fill up…
But that not what i’m trying to do!
(Btw, if I wanted to just manually map the entire thing, I would have bought the MK1 and not paid the extra cash for the MK2 to get the multi colored pads)
I want to be able to control loops I record on the fly & pre recorded loops using the pads
It’s a fairly new product, does this mean it will take 2-3 years for them to make it work properly?
I’ve sent in a service request to Novation (over a week ago. no response).
So, I’m waiting to see what they say.
I have well beyond all the necessary specs in my macbook pro.
My Launchkey61 MK1 - WORKS JUST FINE..
But the Launchkey25 MK2 - of course, doesn’t work as advertised.
Anyone able to help here?
How can I get it to map out ableton as it’s advertised?
