Hey does anyone know if the NS7 is actually being released tomorrow. PSSL.com has 12/15 as the release date. I haven’t really seen a date anywhere else.

My bets are on ‘after the new year’…
pssl is always wrong about there release dates, Ill ask my contact there to see if they have them in stock.
I haven’t been personally, but it’s already up for sale in Toronto at Moog Audio http://www.moogaudio.com/product_info.php?products_id=1482. It’s been on since late October.
at Moog was it just pre-order or was it walk out the door with it for sale?
Its pre-order, it hasnt been release yet, let alone since october.
Sorry to be all grumpy and negative, but WHO ON EARTH would bring that ugly and big monster along on a gig?! Is not digital djing supposed to be “less” gear in a way?! lolz
I don’t know… maybe people who don’t want to cram all their DJ equipment into a little 10" by 10" square?
Digital DJing has NOTHING to do with the amount of (or size of) your equipment. It has to do with giving people who spin music the same kinds of choices that other performers and producers have. I’m not a fan of the NS7 either, but I would sure as hell use it before I used some little controller that tries to do everything in a footprint smaller than a 12" record.
To each their own.
Tell me what the difference is between this one and a mixer with effects and cdjs? I feel like things are going back to square one with these kind of “controllers” it does not even have enough controllers -as it looks like- to control a “exiting” set with Traktor ![]()
And of course, each to their own! ![]()
I think ppl think its cool that its got moving vinyl jog wheels “OHHHH ITS SO SEXYYYY!!!”…But the more moving parts there is the more likely its gonna break, and plus that thing is just tooo fat…You want moving vinyls then get yourself some damn TT’s!
It allows a DJ to access digital technology that the traditional hardware it’s based on doesn’t have. It’s stupid to try and put more on it than that. Some people WANT a tactile controller that approximates the feel of vinyl, some do not. What I don’t understand is why you and epidemic think that if someone wants an experience similar to vinyl, that they should go ahead and move to “the real thing” and get TTs. That’s kind of a backwards mentality coming from a member of this forum. Instead of trying to pick apart a controller that you clearly do not understand, why not learn how moot your arguments are by looking more closely at ALL OF the benefits that a digital solution brings you - not just a smaller possible formfactor.
Edit: That came out wrong, I did not really mean to get tts and a mixer. Sorry for the confusion. What I meant is:
I guess that $3000 is in the entry level of a newcomer dj
I can get a decent traktor pro scratch with very decent turntables and a good mixer for that price, if not even $1000 cheaper. That it should be an alternative for someone that wants vinyl feel, at that price, is not an argument in my world. I am sorry. But I guess you have your flamehat on at the moment, and nothing I say has any validity to you. So, for now, I will leave the discussion, before this gets too damn ugly ![]()
Peace bro! ![]()
I think these controllers are great, they are introducing digital mixing to lots of people who are used to using vinyl or turntables.
If i was going to carry around something that huge i would like some more controllers on it(infact if you have been watching how thing has progressed you would have noticed they have been slowly taking away more controls off it over time). That said, i do agree with Neomonic here, this definantly poops over a pair of turntables so i dont really agree with the whole “might as well have TT” arguement either.
$3000? Is that USD? Because everyone’s putting the MSRP of the NS7 at something closer to $1300.
I heared it would be in between 1300 and 1700 euros.
This would roughly be in between 1750 and 2275 US Dollars.
Though this still has to be confirmed in my book.
I also heared another rumour of it ending up to be 1199,- euros. This would add up to 1600USD.
(This latest is a source that heared it from NUmark themselves.)
Actually, I was wrong about the pricing, my friend that sent me the link is in Australia, but I assumed it was from an international site, it just said $ hehehe. So I take back what I said, and thats not a bad price at all then. I was just outraged by the 3000… Sorry for the confusion (Takes a man to be like a man)
For an all in one solution at the prices that I just googled (1290 US dollar) it is actually a really nice price, and worth thinking about. At entry level for a Digital Dj, it still is a bit steep though.
Another thing I am wondering is, if it would actually work with Traktor Pro instead of with Itch… Anyone know if that is possible?
To the extent of my understanding - yes, its just MIDI. However, you’ll need to use minitranslator or something similar to translate the dual 7-bit messages to a single 7-bit message.
Yeah i dont pay any attention to the prices until i actually see the devices hit the shelves - even preorders arnt that great an indication of the price when it actually hits the shelves.
True that.
It’s always nice to see an indication from some guys, who frequently are somewhat near the actual selling price.
