Numark NS7

Numark NS7

Does anyone have one yet or even demo’d one in a store, I really want to see a review on this, seems like it’s been coming forever.

Particularly want to know if it works with TP with 7/14 bit midi (yeah I know still waiting for TP 1.0.3) and not some proprietary protocol, sure it doesn’t have enough rotaries but the vci 300 seems to work well with a good TSI.

No effects with Itch (well maybe one day fingers crossed) if it could be routed through ableton for effects that would be awesome, it looks like such a primo controller.

Well, I have seen a movie where Ean’s tried it, but I am not sure if he only used the left side, or both left and right sides.

As I have picked up, the right side is still giving Numark a big headache! :disappointed:

There are a lot of youtube vids from NAMM. I realize a lot of them are from Numark reps demoing the product so it may be biased, but it really seems to be a nice piece of kit. It’s a lot larger than the VCI-300, but it has a lot more bells and whistles. I know that Numark has had a few bad years in the past, but I think they are making an excellent comeback with recent products like the NS-7.

I am officially in love, and yet a bit hesitent since its NUMARK!!!

When it becomes available!!! AHHHHH I want it lol!!!

Ean wheres the review? Werent u at NAMM this year?

Holler

Nice product, but $1300.00 is a little too steep for my pocket book.

My tax return should cover this awsome toy!!!

I spin at a local club/lounge in BK New York, and at the moment use my vci-100, which don’t get me wrong is the bomb, but I just want something diff, u know!!!

I want my setup to look good aswell as perfrom to the same level, I miss vinyl, and the NS7 would be an amazing setup!!! 34 pounds is a bit on the heavy side plus I think I might get the case!!!

If anyone here beats me to the punch, write your reviews let us know!!!

You really have to ask yourself if the NS7 is going to really fit in all the clubs that you play at. I know that most places here in l.a. dont have that much room and to bring in a rig like that is really for resident dj’s or (dont kill me) bed room dj’s. By the looks of the rig its almost the same size as 2x1200’s & a 10 mixer.

Its actually smaller then a reg setup!!!

Dimensions and Weight:
29.875" x 14.875" x 3.75" (WxDxH)
34.6 lbs

I do agree with you, personally for me I am a resident dj so this setup works for me or should work for me, and hopefully fits into my already crowded booth!!! I’m gonna see this weekend, I just feel like I can get much more out of the NS7 then my VCI-100, digital is the way and its only geting better, but before I buy I would like a review, like I said its Numark <=== not a fan!!!

Yeah, im not big on Numark either, I’ve had a DX06 for about 3 years with no problems. I haven’t used it much, but its been good to me when I used it.

Pssl.com says its coming out in 46 days.

Here’s Ean’s short review:

Starts of with the NS-7 and APC 40.

It looks solid !!!

I’m in love !!!

With the NS-7 or the girl at the end of the video?

Both! Preferably!

Numark NS7 review

Saw this indepth review posted:

Seems like quite a package for Itch users .. it sort of also works with Traktor according to the reviewer.

Apparently DJ Quartz has the platters working in Traktor. Great news for anyone looking to buy one.

Hopefully we can see Denon controllers (DN-S3700) working in the near future as well.

So only the platters are working with Traktor? What about all of the features?

I got to mess around with an NS7 for a bit this week, and I would have to say, what features? I’m very confused at why this gear was even released. Really expensive, super proprietary, huge footprint, and lacking a lot of features that you could even get out of a few nano controls. It is not a good design IMO.

I’m not sure how I feel about this unit. It seems to fill in a gap between controllerism and DVS/Vinyl of which I’m not sure is there. It’s still smaller than 2 x 1200 and a controller, but it’s so big, clunky and proprietary. I’m not a fan of proprietary, actually, that might have something to do with it… However, the guy in the review seems to be pretty positive about it.

The reviewer ar Skratchworx said that he could get the controlls to work, but not the platters. Also, no FX are mentioned, kind of weird, no?

It looks legit, for a large portion of “djs” looking good and having a good time are more important than performance. Not to say that these aren’t important, certainly they are crucial, but for these djs, performance is 2nd and they aren’t pushing the envelope on anything. You can get the same performance out of a vci-100, then take the money and buy a nanopad and a nanokontrol and you are pretty set, but the spinning platters look and feel awesome, I won’t lie I would love to have one.
