Eanās been an extremely busy guy recently! tsi file version 3_0 is on itās way out for the VCI-100, which involves a totally new layout - and is in very high demand, so Iām sure the Oxygen tweaks arenāt high on his priority list at the momentā¦ Just master your current setup thoroughly, and forget about any updates for the time being - then Iām sure youāll be pleasantly surprised when something finally does arrive!
Hi. Im new here and new to the whole DJing experience. The only harware i have is a Carillion 25 (a rebranded Oxygen 8 but its black). im trying to get to grips with using this mapping, a bit unsucessfully. Does anybody else just use there Oxygen on its own or is it suplementry to some āreal DJ hardwareā?
Maybe i just need to be more creative with what Iāve got and stop looking at everyone elses shiny controllers.

Itās hard to get used to and you will need more functions mapped to control the EQ+volume+prelisten session of traktor.
Itās hard because you really need more then 8 knobs to control EQ, Volume and effects, you will need to use a lot of modifiers to go IN and OUT your modes.
Iāve remaped the oxygen to use Play to enter my Mixing Mode and Stop to exit my Mixing Mode and go back to Eanās mapā¦ This way I can play without a proper mixer.
I use my Oxygen8 as a supplement to my 1200s and mixer for cues, loops, effects, etc.
I think im getting to grips with it (well making someting that vaguely resembles some kind of music!).
I may be missing something really obvious here but in this mapping why are all the slices in twice? Im could really do with freeing up some real estate and 6 extra keys will open up a whole new world to me

anyone else find the sampler function really pointless? I canāt get to grips with how i can usefully make it work with the given controlsā¦
So, Iāve changed it slightly 
Now the 5 unused ātransport controlsā (to the right of the freeze button) are incremental beatmashing buttons and the knobs with originally did the sampler (next to the delay knobs) turn the effect on and off for decks A and B respectively.
Iāll make a youtube vid on this concept this afternoon, and post it on here. Iāve found it really fun to play with, and would like to share it anyone who, like me, finds their āsamplerā redundantā¦

Oxygen 25 v3 Mapping
What a disappointment! Take home a nice new v3 to find it works absolutely perfect with GarageBand. For my next trick I fire up Traktor Pro with Eanās very generous and extremely cool mapping. And it almost worksā¦
As has been said before, v3 does not work with Enigma. M-Audio have said that since it has Directlink they have no intention of making it compatible with Enigma. Whateverā¦
So by opening Enigma and checking Eanās mapping you will see that the only difference is that the knobs and transport buttons have different midi notes on the v3. But as you cannot use Enigma, you will have to remap the controller and Traktor (tsi attached).
The remapping on the controller is straight forward. It is the lower row of knobs that require the midi values to be tweaked. Also note that M-Audio has renumbered the knobs with C1 on the upper left knob on the v3 instead of the v2 C1 which is the lower left knob.
First thing is make sure you are in Preset 01. You do this by pressing the āSelectā button three time (the dot will be on the right, above the PRESETS arrow). Then press ā+ā or ā-ā until you see P01 displayed. This is important because you will alter you Directlink setup which only works on preset 10.
To change the knob values first turn the knob you want to tweak so the controller knows which one you are working on. Next press the āAdvancedā button and the black key with āData 2ā written over it. Now type the midi value with the number keys (6 and 4 for C5 Data 2) then press the āEnterā key. Press āAdvancedā again, followed by āData 3ā and the midi value (1, 2 and 7 for C5 Data 3). You then turn the next knob and repeat.
EDIT Jan 6: Oops, found a mistake in my Enigma interpretation. The following are now correct.
The midi values for the knobs are: C5 - Data 2=0 Data 3=64; C6 - Data 2=64 Data 3=0; C7 - Data 2=0 Data 3=64; C8 - Data 2=64 Data 3=0.
Save this program by pressing āAdvancedā then āStoreā (you should see P.0.1. if you do press enter, else key 01 then enter)
Now load the tsi I have attached in Traktor Pro. Note that it is Eanās programming, except the knobs and loop button (for the Echo Freeze) are remapped for the v3 midi note layout. The only funky thing is that the filter has to be turned on by clicking the buttons under the on screen filter (should be in the tsi, but check).
If you are using the FS-5U, make sure the polarity switch on the back is set away from the connector to get the right action.
Hope this helps. I will look into a stock remapping so that if Ean comes up with new mappings we can use them direct. Iāll keep you all posted.

Thanks for the Oxygen v3 help. I was hoping someone would create a modification for the Oxygen 25 (which I also purchased to use for this mapping). I was able to modify the midi assignments for the knobs but I couldnāt import your TSI file. I use a Mac, I assume you have a PC, the file name you have for your TSI has spaces in it so the Mac wonāt read it as a actual TSI file. Can you re-upload the file using underscores, dashes or no spaces so that Traktor on a Mac will open it?
Also can you include in your mapping assigning the one fader (C9) on the Oxygen 25 as a cross fader in Traktor?

Thanks for the feedback, I was hoping to get an answer to make sure it was easy to understand and that it worked.
Iām not sure why the tsi wonāt load on your system, I too am Mac based (since '97 baby!). I tried the tsi myself to make sure it worked, and it did (Traktor 1.2.3). However, when I get home this afternoon, Iāll upload it with underscores.
Last night I also figured out how to get get midi mappings in and out of the Oxygen 25 v3. I have a little fine tuning to do, but I will soon post how to do it with a nice little piece of freeware. That way we can just use Eanās mapping (and any new onew people will post for the v2).
As for the crossfader, I will gladly put it in the tsi. In my midi mapping for Eanās tsi above, I have already done it. I have it so Deck A is on the bottom of the slider, let me know if you need instruction on how to put it on the top if you would prefer it that way.

Try this version of the tsi. No spaces. It is exported from Traktor 1.2.3.
The crossfader is on there. But before you can use it, you have to remap the slider. Move the slider to select it, press āAdvancedā then āCtrl Asgnā (first white key), then key 99 and press āEnterā. Now press āAdvancedā and āStoreā and put it in P.0.1.

How to use Eanās tsi for the Oxygen 8 v2 on an Oxygen 25 v3
First you need to follow the link and download a nice little freeware app called SysEx Librarian.
Note that this is Mac only. For you PC guys and gals, just type āsysex freeā into Google and you should find something that does the same thing.
What does the app do? If you have a midi device programmed a certain way and would like to preserve that programming, some midi device manufacturers give you the option to do SysEx Memory Dump. What this function does is āplayā every midi control code (Midi CC) for each physical knob, key, button, slider, etc. What you need is a way to āhearā that memory dump. Some DAWs apparently have this capability, but GarageBand does not. So I found a free one that does (see above link).Now you have an exported midi mapping.
To get it back in (or upload it into another), all you have to do is load that file into the program and āplayā it back. Now the controller goes into an auto re-mapping function and you are done!
Well, almost done in the Oxygen 25, you have to turn it off and back on for the new mapping to work.
So without further adieu, here is the mapping for an Oxygen 25 v3 for use with Eanās Oxy 8 v2 mapping. The only change to Eanās functionality is that your vertical slider is now a crossfader with the A deck on the bottom.
IMPORTANT: As the attachments in this forum can only be of certain types, I have changed the extension to .txt. You MUST change it back to .syx before importing it into the app.

So i finally picked up a used Oxygen 8 off ebay to try this mapping out and i am still having trouble with the freeze button. I have read and re-read this post and i still cant find an answer. Whenever i turn the delay on the freeze automatically turns on and the actual freeze button doesnt function at all. I have loaded both the enigma file and the tsi, and the effects seem to be the only things that arent working. All the keys and the filters work perfectly, but the top row of knobs isnt working correctly. Help anyone?
@peedot - when i first used the loaded the tsi, the effects settings came out wrong - so I had to go into the mapping and alter the setting as to which effect it selected when the freeze button is pressed.
Before that though, you should try just flicking the switch at the back off and on again, as thatās often been my problem.
Iām about to purchase an Oxygen 49 and would like to import Eanās mapping using Philās process. Do you think it would be the same deal on a 49 or more complicated in any way. I.e. would i have to make adjustments to suit a different/larger layout? Or should i just get a 25? I would like some extra keys so that i could use it as a larger keyboard too..
Any advice greatly appreciated..
Hi Harj, welcome to DJTT. And excellent use of the search!!
I donāt see there being any problem importing the Oxy 25 settings into a 49. The extra faders and their buttons will not be reassigned and could be linked to other knobs, but that wonāt stop you from using Eanās mappings in Traktor.
And as an absolute worst case (if it does not work at all), I could explain to you how to midi program the 49 yourself (its easy, it just takes a little preperation and patience).
