I saw this the other day. It is crap.

Personally it seems more like a popularity contest (big surprise there).

the first 1-30 are all commercial specialist and i hate commercial house/music. 64/65 for roger sanchez and wally lopez play commercial music and should be there.

i’m into undergound music and in 10 years from now i hope to see some underground djs on there. i want to contribute the invasion of underground music by playing it one day in clubs and by influencing people into it =)

The DJ’s on that list (and the ones not on it) that have some actual artistic merit dont give a shit about popularity contests like this. Sasha and Digweed should both be in the top five, full stop. Guys like PvD and armin i have some respect for still. They have paid their dues and deserve some creds for what they’ve done in the last 10 years or so. Disqualify any Electro/Pop/Commercial type DJ’s and the cream will definitely rise to the top gentle folk :stuck_out_tongue:
That being said .. over on facebook a lot of DJ’s on the psy side seem to take some stock in this list .. spamming like crazy. Astrix should be right up there, Infected Mushroom? they are more of a rock band now wtf.
At the end of the day this list has absolutely nothing to do with skill, talent, kudos or anything, its just propagandised braindead tiesto cultists getting their 14 year old friends to vote for him (or deadmau5 ducks )

…I mean, this IS a top 100 list voted on by fans with no particular criteria, so, yea, it is by definition a popularity contest. Also, I don’t think ill ever understand all the hate that guys like tiesto and mau5 get. I mean its one thing to not like their music (they have both made/remixed tracks that I luv, btw-luv strobe,luv phazin), but why actual hate? Don’t we want djs/producers to be successful? Isn’t that good for all of us? Besides, in america at least, tiesto IS underground compared to, say, justin bieber. Sad as that may be.
