Only one X1 – 4 Decks – HOTCUE working - Native mode mapping

Only one X1 – 4 Decks – HOTCUE working - Native mode mapping

Control 4 Decks with only one Kontrol X1 in native mode (NHL) with all Hotcues working.

I tried to make it as closest as possible the default mapping just adding the extra features I wanted.

Features:
• Only one Kontrol X1 is requited
• This mapping works in native mode (NHL) so you don’t need to toggle to midi mode at any time;
• Control 4 Decks with dedicated deck selection buttons.
• Control all HOTCUES
• All functionalities of the default NI mapping for all 4 Decks
• LED feedback
• Copy any Deck to any other Deck you want
• 2 FX banks
• Change FX mode (Advanced / Chained)
• Each FX bank has 3 different FX Presets for each mode
• Recording
• And more…

Below you can find the TSI file and also a template overlay which I believe is very straightforward.

Any feedback is welcome.

windows doesn’t seem to want to open the zip.

Hey djkevind

I tested it in two different machines (Windows Seven and XP) and both opened just fine.

Perhaps you can try download from here:

Thanks it opened now from ni.

interesting! I was wondering how this could be done, surely such functionality could be implemented in the X1 from the beginning.. that is, if NI didn’t want to sell double X1’s to Hawtin wannabes..

I made mapping for second midi channel for mixer mode for 4 decks. Making there no need for external mixer, I will post it here if anyone wants it.

btw. thanks a lot and_leite for the tsi (nice timing too - was just reading up on modifiers), made some changes and using it, it’s brilliant. djkevind I will give a go to your midi mixer as well, even though I prefer external, it should be useful for a portable all-in-one X1.

Dj Divine Justice Demos Traktor kontrol x1 - Part 2 (4 deck control w/ one X1)

This is my 4 deck control mapping for the kontrol x1. Built upon Andre Liete’s mapping, I added some features like maximizing brower when scrolling, minimizing browser when loading, and making all four scroll knobs volume faders in my midi mode page mapping.

That looks great.

Hey dj divine justice II,

Thank you, the video is a very good contribution for the post.

Just a comment, you changed the Left.1 button to browser only, but in my original mapping you can do this with Shift.Right.Load and also can toggle Full Deck View to Mini Deck View using Shift.Left.Load.

BTW, if someone wants to change the FX Presets (which I know is a personal preference) you can do so very easily sorting by Comments on Control Manager.

Cheers
Andre Leite

no to sound stupid but can you, if using an external mixer…listen to each channel individually?

@markstent: In a word, depending on your soundcard, yes.

I’ve made similar changes including using the left scroll knob to browse the explorer tree on the left hand side and shift pressing that knob expands and collapses folders. Pretty handy.

Everytime I import the .tsi file my Kontrol X1 doesn’t react anymore. Anyone knows what I’m doing wrong?

Unplug the X1 and plug it back in…should work fine.

I’m interested in checking this out, link is dead though, any chance you could repost this, pleaseee?! Thanks!
