Overlay Removal
I have a vci-100 with an old overlay. I was wondering what the best strategy to remove this overlay would be. Thanks
i’ve been asking myself the same question lately 
probably heat to loosen the glue (not too much heat though) and solvent to remove the glue residue.
is the glue residue really a problem?
I was a car spray painter in a past life, so my opinion is if your going to do it do it properly, but if you replace it straight away glue residue shouldn’t be a problem, but I wouldn’t know from experience as in those circumstances I would always remove the glue. There may be a problem with the old glue oxidizing, becoming hard and loosing its stickyness, this may prevent adhesion of the new glue layer, again just guessing but that is what I used to have to do when removing vinyl stickers from cars to replace them… It never occured to me to ask why LOL
