Hey, so last Saturday In Bloom happened which was a rave I organized. About 500 people showed up and everything went off pretty much perfectly. I played at 12 and I cued up my first track then BOOM, the track keep on not staying in sync and moving slightly. This happened throughout my set with both decks of my VCI-100. I had to keep on pressing sync and it kept on fucking me over. I guess the crowd didn’t really notice but it’s such a let down to not perform at your highest level because of problems with your hardware. I came to the conclusion that the bass was rattling the jog wheels, thus moving the tracks. Does that sound right to you guys? What can I do to make sure this doesn’t happen again?

yeah heavy vibrations will rattle them. try putting a bit of foam (or similar) under them for absorbing the shakes?

That sucks! What was the booth/table set up on?
Do you think foam under the conrtoller would have helped?

anything to absorb the vibrations, can’t find it right now, but there was a thing for turntables, cross shaped and sat under each foot, foam filled

Never tried these, but i don’t think they’d work with a vci.

you can also just get the vci bag and put the vci on it while playing..

or if they’re slowly spinning in one direction..just pitch it the opposite way to counter it. i guess.

in a pinch you can probably wedge a bit of tissue/paper(napkin would be a good choice and bars/clubs will have them) under the edge of the platter to stop it moving.
