Perfect setup for hybrid-dj?

Perfect setup for hybrid-dj?

Hello all! Been reading the boards for a long time but decided to make an own account now.

I’m currently spinning with VCI-100 and Traktor Pro. However it’s not my cup of tea anymore since I hunger for better sound, vinyl touch and cooler setup.

My ideal situation would be 2 turntables with digital timecode vinyls and a kick-ass-mixer alongside. I would like to have the oldschool vinyl way of doing things without denying the advantages of modern technology.

You know, I could spin digital mp3’s and at the same time put a real record on the other turntable. Doing this, doing that and keep it interresting to me all the time. The another thing is the sound. I’ve been thinking about A&H Xone:4D for a long time since it has great qualities being a midi controller and an analog mixer at the same time. So I’m asking you, is this all worth spending the money for my type of DJ-setup? Xone 4D = 1800€ + Technics (new/used) approx. 700-1000€, well that’s a lot of money but I want vinyl, great sound and digital!

Really hope I can get some cool tips and perspective for my problem which I’ve been thinking for a year now and trying to save money for.

no

get a motu

I had/have deck, records, a killer mixer, two DVS programs; but at the end of the day, all that gets turned off and the SCS gets turned on. Stick with controllers. Push their/your limits. :sunglasses:

I’m using cdj-400’s allen & heath xone 32 with ssl. I have a korg nano pad kontrol thing for beatmash loops n shit

Hehe.. Well Xone 4D is an awesome controller. But for live I’ll propably take VCI-100 with me onboard.

I think you could also use the Xone: DX - It’ll feature 4 channels, so you could use 2 channels for going digital (playing your mp3s with the builtin jogs) and use 2 of the channels to spin vinyl… And if you don’t want vinyl then you can use all 4 channels with the xone (or use 3 of them digitally and one of then for vinyl or whatever).
Or use 2/3 of the decks for vinyl and one of the decks a a sampler (with a premade track with samples on it).

The Xone: DX is like a stripped down, small and portable Xone:4D for the mobile DJ. But it also is a good 4 channel mixer, A&H-Style (but without the A&H filters and stuff). It also costs a lot less than the 4D (1200€ in Europe instead of 1800€ for the 4D).

If you get that one i guess you can decide last minute what you wanna do - 4 decks digital, 2 decks digital and 2 decks vinyl, only 2 decks vinyl, 2 decks vinyl and 2 decks cd, 4 decks vinyl, whatever…
