That should not be a problem as far as I know it’s midi. So just about anything should be mappable to traktor, not so sure about the Jog LED’s though. I’m so sold to this
Are the platter lights mappable in traktor does anyone know? Slip mode etc… Also it’ll just be midi rather than HID if you map it
Don’t know if lights are mappable unlike at S1 and T1 but slip mode can be mapped with a little thinkery…
Too big (and not enough adoption of Itch) for clubs. Too expensive for most home setups. This is a niche product at best.
I never say that “this or that” looks like a toy.
Put the DDJSX just doesn’t give me the confidence with cramped decks.
Altrough, for 999€ maybe, for 1500€ never.
Take the mixer portion out of the controller, and I envision how I predicted the CDJ will eventually look. With no CD input.
“the Pioneer DDJ-SX will come in at $1199/€999/£809 and should be in your favourite retailer from November 1st. Even amongst we industry types, a much higher price tag had been expected. And even without the Pioneer logo, that’s a very fair price.”
from DJworx this morning. Pretty damn good.
Gah! … LOVE IT
Honetly its the tastiest controller I believe I’ve ever seen and with a decent price, even if this was bloody Reloop it would be a good price given the feature set, but its Pioneer FFS.
Given that its too big for lugging around for the occasional set, and honestly don’t see it being an install piece of kit with all the new toys coming out though its becoming harder to perform your “routine” at a club the same as you would at home without bringing a ton of shit with you.
- Roll on a V7 alike version of the SX that can be used alongside CDJ’s in a club
- Roll on a Serato Ipad app so we dont need to lug laptops
- Roll on reliable computers INSTALLED in clubs for whatever system(s) are in use and a simple method of plugging and playing.
- Roll on standardized playlist formats across all DJ software for exporting to whatever happens to be installed.
Congrats to Pioneer though, in just a few months we’ve seen some serious innovation, game changers (IMHO) and quite literally “something for everyone” from Complete DJ Newbie to Seasoned Pro.
No Complaints from me apart from the price of CDJ’s and I think they missed a trick by not adding dual USB connectors.
Looks sweet and if I used Serato I’d get one in a heartbeat(pending a review or two). But I’m on Traktor and in love with my VCI-400 EGE
Props to Pio/Serato![]()
Price seems to be ok. Stil think 200$ is too much for upgrade from Intro to Serato DJ… ![]()
Isn’t Serato DJ Intro free?
I was excited about the “midi mapping” until I read this: While you can use MIDI mapping to get functionality on secondary controllers, you’ll have to have a primary one plugged in to get the software behaving properly.
WTF does that mean? I can use a secondary controller as long as my DDJ-SX is always connected?! Doesn’t that completely defeat the purpose?!
HID sounds
anyone wana buy a vci 400se? ![]()
so what you’re saying is: it’s a gorgeous controller that would look nice in your bedroom.
Its a gorgeous controller that would look and perform well in the Bedroom, Radio station or Mobile Dj gigs but from a practical standpoint of being able to transition exactly what you are used to doing at home to the standard club DJ box - not very,
It is a shame because I though the Idea of the Aero was superb in that it allows you to make the transition between the studio > club easy as hell without spending 4k on CDJ’s and a mixer. The build / layout though of the SX looks amazing in comparison but lacks that ability.
However if they brought out a modular version of the deck areas alone … guess I should buy a hacksaw ![]()
It means it works as serato products always have, the certified controller needs to be plugged in to unlock the software. Same with ITCH, same with scratch live.
i hear you.
Does anyone know if the tempo faders will be high res?
The DDJ-S1 is accurate to .01 bpm and imagine this unit will be the same
For reference the CDJ900 is .02 bpm
