Pioneer DDJ-SP1?
Got this from a friend who works at an Pioneer Service Center. I’m guessing a single player controller.
What do you guys think? ![]()

Maybe a new Serato controller…
woah!!! sweet! insider info!
Hopefully not
usealy DDJ S* means Serato and T* is traktor but I don’t realy care because they all can be mapped to MC
Mixvibes Cross
Weak, I hate Serato lol.
sooo…probably a Serato DJ single platter controller (like PL-1 and SC2000) based on the DDJ-SX (chop of the mixer section and voila!). Hope it will come with a Traktor mapping (official) ![]()
Pio controllers are PITA for traktor mappings or at least S1 and T1 that people were coming to look help for.
It owuld be sweet to see a modular version of the sx, but Im not holding my breath.
OK, S1 was for Serato so no wonder there but I remember reading a T1 review that praised the mapping, especially the jogs performance
O do you mean custom mappings?
So this might be the equivalent of a Numark V7 but from Pioneer ? … hmmmm sounds VERY interesting.
Well the T1 official traktor mapping from pioneer site doesn’t even have the jog wheels mapped in and you wont even find any custom mapping available online. No wonder why.
I’ve mapped many serato and vdj controllers in traktor so that shouldn’t be the case with S1 unless any of those controllers are sending some controls via HID natively.
I like serato DJ, loved my V7 s so if this ends up being something like that (especially if it plays nicely with the my ddjsx), I’m all about it
If Pioneer DID release a single-platter modular controller, and it works with Traktor, that MIGHT be the first Pioneer product I’d actually consider buying. Unfortunately, it’d probably be stupidly expensive.
So you just told the world that your mate is leaking info to you and you have posted it on here. I guess there may be a few questions asked on Monday in the Pioneer centre. Can’t be that many people that use that tool in that office, if he is also in Belgium.
Better give him a call. He may be angry at you come Monday
hmy:
Jus sayin’ (sorry but i hate leaks and leakers)
Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn’t share that viewpoint Karlos
!
Personally, I hate the fact that most companies keep customers in the dark during product development. I was heavily involved in several Microsoft leaks back in the late 90s/early 2000s, which were essentially orchestrated by Microsoft themselves. The underground beta community provided invaluable feedback on the progression of the development, as well as generating significant hype amongst tech users.
If I was running things at a DJ company I’d be posting sketches, renders, spec lists, everything to Facebook/DJTT from day 1; from concept all the way through to production.
Yeah and then you’d probably be pissed off when another company steals the idea, manufactures it faster and sells at a lower price point!! Remind me never to go into business with you!
You make it sound like companies don’t know EXACTLY what their competition are doing already… corporate espionage is a fact of life in any competitive markets. The only people truly in the dark about new products are the general public I’m afraid.
What he says is true. In every industry competitors are constantly finding ways to discover the inner workings of each other and what is coming soon.
Not sure that’s entirely true. How many iPods were released before the actual iPod? How many cdj’s? How many iPhones?
